Patriotic Cards

Since this weekend is Labor Day, I decided to make some more patriotic cards.  I wanted to use one of my new stamp set I had just received and thought this would be great card to try the die out.

This card came together pretty quick until it came to producing the letters!

Recipe:

Paper - Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Alphabet Punch Outs
Ink - Pacific Point, Real Red
Accessories - Sunshine Wishes Die, Star embossing folder, Dazzling Diamonds, Rhinestone

My basic card is an A2, with the first layer in Brilliant Blue 4 x 5 1/4".  My second layer in Whisper White is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8".  I then ran this through my embossing folder.  I die cut 1 design in each color.  I adhered my blue cutout first.  Then I cut the stems off the other two and placed them on either side.

I don't have any letter die cuts and didn't know what to use.  When I was asking the girls they came up with the packages of alphabet punch outs they have used for school projects!  Of course, I couldn't find solid color ones, but did find white ones.  I used my SU markers to color them and we were all set.  I didn't have the Brilliant Blue marker, but the Pacific Point one matched fine!  For the white letter, I used my 2-way glue pen with the dazzling diamonds.  I was happy how they turnd out!

Well, everyone in the Pansy Patch hope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Super impressive. I love how you wrapped the "s" around the stem of the flower. It's always so much fun to play with the new stamps/dies. I think I will be placing an order at the end of Sept. I have the hubby almost persuaded. (just so many dr. bills) ugh. Any ways I also love your signature at the bottom of your blog. Lovely job.

Wow! These cards are super cute with the way you did the red/white/blue die cut flower! I had to study it up close to see how you got the three colors. And I love the letters with the sparkly "S" wrapped around the flower stem. Punch outs like this are definitely not as easy as die cuts, so I can understand how that slowed you down. Fantastic to put it all on the star-embossed background. Really outstanding!
