Happy Birthday Shaker Card

One birthday card down and two more to go!  I made this card for a friend of mine who lives in Florida.  We have known each other since we were kids going to the same school, church, etc.  It's nice to keep in touch.  I like to watch Jennifer McGuire's blog for different techniques and ideas.  A few weeks ago, I saw her use the die - Birthday Message #1842- and fell in love with it.  Of course, it was out of stock when I went to order it so I left my email to notify me when it was back in stock.  When they did Simon Says had a special on if you order one die you get the die - Beautiful Wafer Die - for free.  Well, I couldn't let a good deal go bye!

I used white CS for my base card.  I cut out 4 layers of white CS with the die to form my shaker card.  I glued them on a solid piece of white CS and used the die to cut out another one using some green glitter paper.  I glued on a piece of clear CS to it and glued that on my 4 pieces after I filled the sentiment with some little gems to make the shaker card.  I love how it turned out!  I love making shaker cards this way.  For my sentiment on the front, I used SU's stamp set Label Me Bold.

For the inside sentiment, I used SU's stamp set Approaching Perfection.  I love the sayings that are included.  I also punched some little hearts from the left over green glitter paper.  It is hard to believe that Easter is around the corner.  It is really early this year.  Have a great week!

Sarah's Birthday Card

It seems like everything comes in bunches.  I have a few projects on the back burner but, I can't seem to get back to them.  I have a bunch of birthdays coming up so everything stops so I can get their cards made.  Then on top of this there are Easter cards and goodies to be made and we go on and on!  Well, the first card I made is for  Sarah's birthday.  Talk about where does time go - she will be 19 years old!  That seems impossible!  I decided to make her a more grown up card this year.  Of course, I went to my Heartfelt Creations stash and came up with this card.

I used the Burst of Spring collection.  Why?  Because it has pansies in it!  This card came together really quick.  I used some 12"x12" white CS and cut it down to a 6"x6" base card.  My first layer is some purple CS I had in my stash and the next layer is from their DSP collection.  I used their Petite Pocket Accent die to cut out another piece of purple CS and the two decorative pieces of that die on white CS and used some foam tape to pop it up.

This is the first time I used some ribbon behind my flowers.  It is a sheer purple ribbon and hard to see.  The next time I will make my bows bigger so they will stand out more.  My pansies and leaves are from the same collection and I used gold prills for the center.   Even the little tag was included in the collection.  I also decided to add some gems at the last minute.

For my inside paper, I used a 6"x6" panel from the DSP collection.  I love how everything goes so well together.  Well, one card down and a few more to go.  Believe it or not it is snowing here tonight.  We are not suppose to get any accumulation but it is nasty and cold again!  I was so happy yesterday as I saw some ore robins!!  I think that is a good sign.

St. Patrick's Day Card

Well, everyone is happy around here - it has been in the 50's and we just love it!  It has been so nice to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather.  Unfortunately, rain and colder weather is on its way but at least I know it won't be for long.  We always celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and I love making cards for that occasion.  I saw this card over on Pinterest and thought it was so cute so I made a bunch of them with goodies I had on hand!

It is amazing what one finds when they clean out a drawer.  I found these cute scalloped note cards with envelopes.  I must have purchased them from the annual Craft Show which unfortunately won't happen again this year!  We always enjoyed the show  so much.  Hopefully - next year!

I used SU's stamp set Over the Rainbow with my misti and loved how they all turned out.  The little sentiment on the bottom is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  A few gems and it was done!

I used my Irish sentiment stamp from Inkadinkadoo and a cute peg stamp from Judith's for the inside.

I even dressed up the envelope with it!  I love these little stamps.  I  hope everyone is doing well.  Joe and I are still trying to get appointments for the vaccine.  Hopefully, now that J&J is approved there will be more around.

Mini Backpack

Awhile a go, I was checking out different blogs and I came across this cute little backpack that was created by - Pootles. I like to visit her blog as she does a variety of different types of crafts.  I was looking for something to make for Jennifer as she got such an excellent report card again.  I thought this was perfect as I can but some goodies inside along with some $$$$ which she has become fond of.  The other day I asked her what she was going to do with the $5 Aunt Mini (that's what she calls Margaret) gave her and she said she can buy 5 things at the Dollar Store!

I made this in one of her favorite colors with corresponding DSP.  My friend Denise sent me the adorable little hearts from SU, and I thought it looked so cute tied in.

Here is a view of the side.  Following her video it was really easy to cut out and put together.

Here is a picture of the back with the straps.  She made hers 1/4" but I decided to go with 1/2" for more durability.  She also used magnets to close the flaps.  It took awhile to find the right strength - 8mm x 1mm but finally I ordered them on Amazon.  The sentiment is another one from Maker Forte.
