Halloween Card

I'm trying not to overdo using my hand while making some Halloween cards.   I used the Halloween Night DSP making these quick and easy cards.

I used the Spooky Cat stamp set from SU for my witches hat and die cut it out with my circle and scallop dies.  My sentiments came from the Paper Pumpkin set I had from years ago.

For my inside sentiment, I used my favorite Halloween stamp and decorated with some washi tape.  It is amazing how $1 stamp from Michael's stamps so well and becomes your go to stamp!!

The weather here is still so nice.  I am in the process of filling the Halloween box for Jennifer, which is proving more difficult this year as all the local stores are having trouble stocking their shelves.  I'm reading about all the cargo ships lined up on the coasts waiting to have their containers unloaded.  This does not bode well for the coming months.  The stores here are already putting quantity limits on their products.  I don't think things will ever get back to the way things were before the pandemic.

I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment.  Have a great weekend!

Halloween Gift Cards

Well, my hand surgery went well. Actually, much better than I thought it would so I decided to finish some cards.  I started making these cards before my hand surgery and all I had left to do was make the holders for the gift cards.  I saw this card on Pinterest and decided to make some for the family!

This card looks like a regular A2 card but when you open it the folds are revealed.  They called it a Dutch Door fold.

It really came together pretty quick.  I used the Spooky Night DSP and layered the square on a piece of Very Vanilla.  On the back, I adhered another piece of DSP so you can see that when the card is opened. Then I attached it to the "door" of the base card. I also die cut some pumpkins from the DSP and popped them up with dimensionals using the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlets.

On the inside, I attached a piece of Very Vanilla CS on the lower right side and stamped on it using the Paper Pumpkin set I used on my last card.  Last night I made the pockets for the gift cards using some more of the DSP.  The BOO is embossed with some white embossing powder!

Some more exciting news is Joe and I became Great Grandparents!!  Sarah had a beautiful baby BOY!!  It is the first boy in the family!  Jennifer is just beside herself that she is a big cousin!

It seems like yesterday that Jennifer was born.  Hard to believe that she will be  8 years old next month!  With Jennifer going back to school I think Daisy is getting lonely!

I want to thank everyone for their emails and good wishes.  I'm feeling much better and hope to make some more cards soon!

Thanks for stopping by,

Nancy

Halloween Card

I actually started making some Halloween cards!  I was trying to get some made early as I will be MIA for awhile as I am having surgery tomorrow on my left hand.  I have severe carpel tunnel and trigger fingers on both hands.  I should have done this long ago but put it off and of course it got worst.  I am having my left hand done first and we will see how it goes.  With my disability it will be interesting how I will be able to get about.  I didn't get too many cards done though unfortunately.  This first card I saw on Pinterest.  I had been wanting to use my Wreath Builder & Template and stamp set by Gina K again and I loved how this turned out.  Instead of flowers and leaves I used pumpkin faces!

For the card on the left I used the pumpkin face from SU's Harvest Hello stamp set.  I thought it was a little large, so I took out my Halloween stamps and found a smaller one that I had in an old Paper Pumpkin from SU.  Which one do you like?

For the witches hats, I used SU's Toile and Trouble DSP and cut it with the Cauldron Bubble Framelits dies.

For the inside sentiment, I used my old Michael's $1 stamp and decorated it with some washi tape.  I am really making a concentrated effort to use up what I have before I buy anything new.

Here are some pictures from our trip to Tennessee.  The first one is a great restaurant we found on our first day at Pidgeon Forge.  It was a replica of the old diners which brought back a lot of good memories!

They had some great old cars parked out front and everyone was dressed up in 50's attire.

Inside they had 2 old cars - one red and the other pink - and in the middle they had cut out a booth for people to sit and we got to sit in the red one.  Here is a pix of Joe, Jennifer and I waiting for our food!

One of our stops was at the Parrot House.  This was such a cool place!  They were celebrating their 20th Anniversary.  They started out with 1 parrot and today they have 1,000!  I have so many pictures of all the different species but I loved this one with Jennifer and Jeannie with all the birds!

Another stop was at Dolly's Parton's Stampede.  It was a dinner show with lots of entertainment.  We loved the horses!

Here is Joe and Jennifer having a great time.  This was their past time every night!  The loser had to buy the ice cream!  It was always a fierce battle but Joe always lost!!

On the way home we stopped in Virginia at the Luray Caverns.  Here is a picture of Jennifer, Jeannie and Daisy.  When I was 9 years old I went there and remember how we had to walk through it up and down on very tiny steps!  It is all different today as the steps have been replace with a path.  It was so brutality hot that day so it was so nice being in the caverns!

It's hard to see but that's Joe and I in the picture.

It was just as beautiful as I remembered!

Here is a picture of Jennifer.  She was amazed at the caverns!

Here is a picture of Jennifer and I on the path.

Here is a picture of music being played and the different sounds it makes in that area of the cavern.  It was really beautiful!

As I mentioned, we had to cut our trip short due to the flooding/oncoming hurricane and were not able to go to Nashville so that is still on my bucket list!

Thanks for stopping by,

Kids Notes

Well, here it is September!  We have been so busy.  We were on a family vacation to Tennessee!  We had a great time but had to cut it short due to the flooding and hurricane.  We were in Pigeon Forge and were suppose to travel to Nashville, but decided to head home with the weather forecast.  I will post some pictures soon.  I was looking for something to post and came across an envelop of some kids notes that I had made last year and did not give to my daughter as Jennifer ended up doing school remotely most of the year.  I remember writing notes on post it's and putting them in my kids lunches and then did the same thing for Rachel and Sarah.  So I decided to make some stamped ones for Jeannie to use for Jennifer.  I cut the larger pieces of CS     4 1/4" x 2 3/4" and the smaller CS at 4" x 2 1/2".

For these notes, I mostly used SU's stamp set Wiggle Worm.

I'm definitely going to make some more.  I think I will make some using some holiday stamps.  I left room so my daughter can write her own message to Jennifer!

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that has been in harms way.  We were really lucky - we had a lot of wind and rain but did not lose power!  We had several tornados around us and lots of damage as well.  We definitely dodged a bullet this time.

Thanks for stopping by,
