Pansy Mother's Day Baskets

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother's Day.  Unfortunately, ours didn't turn out as we expected.  Last Wed. Joe's sister lost her battle with cancer.  She had been diagnosed in January with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer and after Easter it had metastasized to other organs.  We then put her into Hospice Care.  We decided to have her funeral on Sat. as everyone was home for the weekend.  We are a small family, so it was nice that everyone was there to help Joe through this time.  It was nice to have all their help in packing up her belongings at her Assisted Living in NJ as well.  We did manage to get together for lunch on Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day.  Fortunately, I had started my daughters baskets earlier and only had to finished up the lids.  I saw these dies and stamps over at Heartfelt Creations and of course being pansies I fell in love with them.

I made my basket from the containers I purchased from Amazon that I used for this project - Emoji Sweet Treats.  I wrapped them with some of the DSP from the Burst of Spring Collection at Heartfelt Creations.  For my lids, I used my scalloped circle die from Spellbinders and made them out of Highland Heather CS.

I used the dies from this set and cut out the preprinted pansies and leaves from the DSP.  I was really happy how my first attempt turned out.

I glued some prills for the centers and then adhered them to the lids.

I had some ribbon in my stash that matched the Highland Heather CS pretty good so I glued that on the rims.

I punched holes on opposite side for my handles made of Highland Heather as well and secured them with some brads I had in my stash.

I really liked how they turned out.  I can see lots of pansies in future cards!  Next time I'm going to stamp the pansies and color them.

Joe and I want to thank all our friends and family for their loving thoughts, prayers and support that came our way.  It meant so much to us.  At the moment, we are overwhelmed with all the paperwork that is required going forward but we are taking it day by day.

Thanks for stopping by,

Nancy

Hershey Flowers for Mother's Day

It was time for me to make some goodies for my daughter to take to the Wellness Center for Mother's Day.  Brenda Quintana had another adorable tutorial to make these cute Hershey Flowers.  I love all her Hershey tutorials and this one fit the bill.  I have been working on them off and on for awhile as it did involve a lot of cutting and gluing but I think it was worth it.

Here is a picture of the stems I was making.

Since I was making a lot of them, I cut up my material for 5 at a time.  These were great for using up scraps of materials.  I really cleaned out my scraps.

I didn't have the punch she used for the centers, so I used a smaller version I had on hand.  I also got to use up some of my old gem stones that I had been rattling around in the drawer.

Here is a closer look at the finished product.  Who doesn't love some Hershey kisses?

Here is a picture of one of the trays ready to go.  I still have about 10 more flowers to make.  I love how these turned out.  You could make them for multiple occasions.  I'm going to give some of them to my girls for Mother's Day.

Nancy

Happy Birthday Card

This weekend is my youngest daughter's birthday, and I used her favorite color to make this card.  I used Highland Heather CS for the base card and cut some Gala Gingham DSP to go down the center mounted on Basic Black.

For my center piece, I used a stamp from the Tea Together SU stamp set. along with the Blended Seasons SU stamp sets and mounted that on Basic Black CS as well.  After making a flag for my sentiment, I used some Gala Gingham rhinestones.

For my inside sentiment, I used the Beautiful Day SU stamp set and adhered an extra piece of the Gala Gingham DSP on the bottom.

I have been decorating my envelopes lately and used this Stamps by Judith that I picked up at the Craft Show last month.  I love these pegs stamps.  I think it almost matches the rose on the front of the card perfectly.  Have a great weekend!
