Anniversary Card

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend!  Our was busy with lot of fun.  We went to Margaret's and Dave's for a great barbecue on Saturday to celebrate there 1st wedding Anniversary.  They loved the Floral Frame that I made for them.  I also wanted to make them a special card to match as well.  I decided to use a Heartfelt Creations Shutter Fold Card as my base.  This was the first time I used this type of card and I loved how it turned out.

I wanted match it to the Floral Frame I made, so I used the same DSP from the Petunia Collection of Heartfelt Creations.  I just love this DSP.  I also used their Rounded Sunlight Window and the Window Hinges Dies.  For my flowers, I used the Classic Rose Collection and the Cherry Blossom Collection to match the Floral Frame as well.  I love how it looks which the flowers on the outside of the window,

For the inside, I used a 6x6 piece of the DSP where I wrote our sentiment.  It was a little hard taking this picture as the side didn't want to stay open! Now that this project is finished I will have to think of what I will do next.

Decorative Floral Photo Frame

I have been working on this project for a while.  It was definitely a labor of love!!  As you know from past projects, I have fallen in love with Heartfelt Creations stamps, dies and the rest of their products.  They also have online classes and lots of free videos on their facebook/blog.  A few months ago, they posted this project and of course I fell in love with it so I signed up for the class.  My daughter got married last June, and I was thinking about what to give them for their first aniversary and knew from the moment I saw this I wanted to make this for them.   Fortunately, I started early as it took me awhile.  They are having a small gathering this weekend to celebrate, so I made it with some time to spare.

This is how it looks with a belly band keeping it closed.  It has a magnetic closure on the back which makes it nice and secure.

Here is a closeup of the belly band.   I decided to make red roses as that is one of her favorite flowers and some tiny pink cherry blossoms to go with them.

This is the back of the photo frame done in DSP and decorative dies colored with 3D Crystal Lacquer applied to them.  All my colors throughout the project are SU's Real Red and Blushing Bride.  It's hard to see, but I used hinges to adhered the two frame together.  Everything else are Heartfelt Creations products.

Here is a picture of what you see when you open up the frame.  I chose a picture of her and her husband on one side and the wedding party on the other side with Rachel, Joe, Margaret, Dave, Sarah and Dave's son Joey.  As you see, we have lots of Joe's!!  Each frame consists of two boxes with the pictures recessed.  I decided to use the cherry blossom flowers as they were tiny enough to place inside the first frames with some leaves.

It did take me time to make everything, but I am thrilled with how it turned out and I hope they will like it as much as I do.  It's hard to believe that a year has gone by already.

Father's Day Card

I'm trying to get the rest of my Father's Day cards made.  My son-in-law loves his motorcycle so I decided to use SU's stamp set - One wild Ride.  I've made a few cards in the past with this set and decided to use it for his card.

I cut a piece of Smokey Grey CS 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  I cut my Basic Black CS 10" x 3 3/4" and scored it at 5" and adhered it on the Grey CS.  My layer of Whisper White measures 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".  I then embossed a piece of silver foil measuring 3 1/4" x 4 1/2 and adhered it on the layer.

I fussy cut the motocycle and used some 3-D Lacquer and added some glitter and popped it up with some dimensionals.  Because of the foil I had a hard time taking a picture of it.  I used one of the sentiments in the set and tied on some black ribbon.

I used my Michael's stamp again for the inside sentiment and some left-over stars from my previous card.  Another quick and easy card, but I liked how it turned out.  I always struggle with cards for the guys.  But I know he will like it because of the motorcyle.

It has been really hot and humid here for a couple days.  Here is how Jennifer is cooling off!

All the pools are still closed, but I think she is having more fun in the creek!  She was amazed seeing the little "fishes" she saw swimming around!  Her last day of school is tomorrow, so I am hoping for some sleep-overs!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Father's Day Card

I have been busy working on a project that I am making for my Daugher's 1st Anniversary that is coming up, and I realized that I haven't made any Father's Day cards.  So I took some time this weekend and started making some cards.  This first card is pretty simple but I like how it turned out.

I used Pacific Point for my base card and Daffodil Delight for my layer.  I used SU's Large Letter Framelits Die and cut out the letters and adhered the layer over the base card.  I then used SU's Celebrate You die on Brushing Silver CS to die cut the sentiment and added some stars.

For my inside, I used my old sentiment stamp from Michael's and some more stars.  I told you it was simple.   Sarah graduated last week unfortunately with no ceremony or prom.  The school did go around visiting everyone giving them a balloon and some goodies as well.  I really feel bad for all the kids.  They are thinking about doing something in the fall - we will have to wait and see.

Things are slowly starting to open up around here, but the lines are still pretty long at the food stores with still lots of shortages.  Stay safe.
