Reindeer Food

Every year I have made reindeer food for Rachel and Sarah, and now for Jennifer and her friends at school.  This year was no exception, except that I got it done just under the wire as my daughter decided to take off the week before Christmas and needed the food ASAP.  I saw a bunch of different treats on Youtube, but I saw one using the plastic bottles and decided to make that one.  You can put anything you really want for the treat, as long as it is edible and safe for the little critters outside.

First I mixed everything together and then put them into the little treat bottles.  I decided to wrap a piece of tape around the top as the corks did not stay in too tight - ask me how I found that out!

I then copied the poem and cut them out and mounted them on some CS.  There are a lot of them on the web.

For the actual holder, I used CS 11 1/2" X 2" and scored it at 2 1/4", 3", 5 1/4" and 6".  Before putting it together I used my 3/4" circle to punch out the hole so the tube will fit in nice and snug.  Then I cut out some DSP 1/8" smaller for decoration and adhered it together.  On the top of the holder, I used my scalloped punch.

I used some felt Christmas decorations I had and decorated the front of the holder.  I then tied on the poem through the hole with some twine.  I packaged each holder in a decorative plastic bag with a few candy canes, and tied them off with the little reindeer tag.

I then put them into a basket and sent along a bag of candy canes - slowly I'm using them up!!

Jennifer loved passing them out to her friends.  She is so excited.  They are going to go to New York City tomorrow to see the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center.  Tomorrow is the last day of school for the girls, so everyone is ready to celebrate.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a very Merry Christmas!!

Rudolph Pillow Box Ornament

Here is a cute twist on the Tags & Trimming Thinlets.  When I was searching Youtube for some ideas for making my stockings that I posted earlier, I came across this adorable VIDEO from Rejoice & Create.  She just turned the stocking around and made it into a cute Rudolph Ornament.  I thought it was so cute, so I made it for Jennifer and her friend to hang on the tree.

I loved how they turned out.  They are pretty easy to make.

I wrapped them each in a decorated bag and clipped them together with these cute bookmarks.

I just punched them out, one for the front and one for the back,  and colored them in and then hot glued them with a jumbo paper clip placed inside.  They love to use bookmarks and I thought they needed some for their Christmas books.

Tags and Trimings Stockings

Well, it is definitely looking a lot like Christmas!!  Snow is falling outside and boy is it cold!  My to do list is getting smaller (thank goodness) and I can see my desk finally in the craft room!  When I first saw this stamp set and dies in the Holiday Catalog, I knew that it would be on my shopping list.  I love pillow boxes, and the fact that you can make this adorable stocking as well just makes this set.  I decided to make these for my daughter to take to the Wellness Center and I gave myself a project!  But I loved how they turned out.  They were definitely worth the time and effort.

It is also a good way to use up some of those paper scraps that we have laying around.

I die cut all my pieces first, as well as the pieces that I wanted to use for decoration.  I then put on the tear and tape and put everything together assembly style.

I had stockings everywhere!  Then I noticed that they started disappearing - the little elves were at it again.  I ended up making 50 of them.

Some I made with greetings and some without.  I decided I would get some candy canes to put inside the pillow boxes.  I was in Sam's club and saw this container and decided to get it.  Unfortunately, I had left my glasses at home and thought it said 100 candy canes which would be perfect since I planned on putting 2 inside each box.

Well, as you can see, the count is 500!!  Needless to say, everyone is getting extra candy canes this year!

Here's one basket ready to go and an extra basket of candy canes!!

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday traditions.  Have a great weekend!

Birthday Card with Embossing Paste

I know everyone is doing Christmas items, but a birthday snuck up on me so I tried out this birthday card video that I saw at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts blog.  I love her videos as she is so thorough and explains everything so well.  I had not used my embossing paste in a while and wanted to try it again.  Following her instructions, it was really easy.  I liked the look of putting the Dazzling Diamonds in the paste.

The colors I used were Melon Mambo, Pool Party and Lemon Lime.  She has all the measurements in her video.  I also used the Happy Birthday Thinlets die with the adhesive paper.  I love how this makes it so easy to adher on your paper.

Here is the inside sentiment.  I even made an envelope with my punch board!

It's hard to see, but the paper matched perfectly.  Well, I'm almost finished my goodies for the Wellness Center that I'll post soon.  Then I have to start of the goodies for Jennifer's class!

December Planner

It seems like yesterday that I posted my November planner and here it is time for December's.  I so enjoy doing this every month.  It is so neat looking at the calendar all decorated.  I didn't have a lot of time this month, but I was happy how it turned out.

I used the following stamp sets for this month - Tags and Trimmings, Seasonal Chums and Labels to Love.  My DSP was Candy Cane Lane and I used my tree punch as well.  I also used some washi tape around the HO-HO-HO that I had picked up from Michael's.  It's hard to tell, but I stamped some stars on the paper as well.  Our decorations are up, and we finished the tree yesterday.  I'm waiting for the girls to come by this weekend to put the manager set up.  I started this when Rachel was only 2 years old and it has become a tradition.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.
