Teacher's Card

It's hard to believe but the school year is almost over.  Jennifer will be going into 4th grade plus a new school!  She loves the little school that she has been going to so it will be a change for her in the fall.  She asked me to make her teacher a card to give her at end of the year party.  I knew immediately what stamp set I would use - Harvest Hellos from SU along with the matching punch.  I have used it many times for either pumpkins or school projects.

I used SU's Real Red CS for the base card and some DSP for the layer.  For the next layer, I stamped two apples on Whisper White and colored them in with the matching Real Red marker.  I then stamped the sentiment on Real Red and punched it out.  I added some red gems from my stash and used some SU's Polka Dot Tulle ribbon to finish it off and put Memorial Day weekendsome Wink of Stella on the apples.

For my inside sentiment, I used SU's Pansy Patch stamp set and added the scrap of DSP I had leftover.  I just love this sentiment.  Memorial Day weekend is coming up but unfortunately it looks like we are going to have rain.  Daisy was out for a walk and she decided to try on Jennifer's sunglasses!

Slim line Card for Jennifer

Well, it was either dust the house or go to my craft room and play over the weekend!  Guess what won!  It is amazing how "Old Man Dusty" never stops!  I decided to make my first mini slime line card.  I was amazed how quick it came together.

I fell in love with this adorable SU stamp set called Mischievous Mice.  It is a hostess stamp so I didn't think I would be able to get it, but a demonstrator Loving Life's Little Blessings had a card kit the other month with this stamp set and I jumped at the chance to get it.  I usually don't do these kits but knew this would be the only way I would be able to get my hands on it.  I am a sucker for all these cute little critters!  It was hard to decide which little mouse I wanted but ended up with the one holding the pencil.  I used Gina K's Master layout for the Mini Slim Card which I had just purchased which made it so easy to out together.  The DSP came in the kit as well, and I used some green glitter paper from my stash for the layer behind the circle.  The sentiment came from SU's Ladybug stamp set.

For my inside sentiment, I used SU's Blended Seasons stamp set and some scrap DSP I had left over.  I will definitely be making some more of these cards.  It's nice that it fits into a regular envelope as well.

Mother's Day Card

I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day weekend.  The rain finally stopped here and the sun came out on Sunday.  I didn't get to make many cards - too much going on.  The one I did make was from an old SU stamp set called A Nice Cuppa.

I used my heart embossing folder on Melon Mambo CS for my first layer and punched some of the matching DSP to layer on top of it.  I used one of the dies to cut out a teacup and stamped it with one of the set's sentiment.  I tied on a little teapot on the handle just for fun!

For the inside sentiment, I used an old $1 stamp from Michael's that I bring out every year.  Then I used some of my heart washi tape to decorate the bottom.

I saw these cute flower holders on Pinterest and Jennifer wanted to make them for her Mom and Aunt Mimi.  Good thing we had a Plan B as when she tried to glue on the popsicle sticks they wouldn't hold.  I had to then get out the old glue gun!

I think they turned out cute!

Butterfly Easel Card and gift box for Rachel

It is hard to believe that Rachel celebrated her 22nd birthday over the weekend.  It seems like yesterday we were waiting patiently for her to make her entrance into the world!  She loves butterflies, so I chose Heartfelt Creations Floral Butterfly Collection to make her card and their die to make a gift box.

I used the shaped die to make the base card and folded it to make it into an easel card.

It is hard to see but I adhered the butterfly onto gold lux CS and made 2 paper beads for the body of the butterfly.

Here is a close up of the easel card.  Of course, I decorated it with some pansies.  I used Heartfelt Creations Burst of Spring Collection for the pansies.  I never made blue pansies before and I loved how they turned out.  I used SU's Pansy Patch stamp set for the sentiment.

I have made these adorable gift boxes before.  For this one, I used some DSP from the Butterfly Collection and some gold lux CS to decorate the sides.

I had an extra pansy left over, so I decided to put it on the top along with a smaller butterfly from the collection.  I had such a fun time creating these.
