Christmas Trees

Well, only a few days left in 2021!  Before the holidays are behind us, I wanted to post these adorable trees that I made.  I originally saw this video on Jennifer McGuire's blog last year and purchased the dies but it was too late to make any, so I stashed them away for this year. I was really proud of myself that I remembered I had them!!  I think they turned out so cute.  I am definitely going to make some more next year in different color greens and mix and match them..

Here is a picture of two of them.

This is the smaller tree.  I made this one alternating branches with CS and felt.  I really liked the look of it but it is not as full looking as the one with all CS.  I decorated it with small gold beads and some thin gold thread I had in my stash that I use for tying on tags.

This one is made with all CS and to me it looks fuller.  I decorated it with tiny pom poms. The stars were punched out with gold glimmer paper.  I used my glue gun to put on the beads and pom poms not glue as Jennifer used.  To me it was a lot easier. The set was from Concord & 9th - Take a Bough Encore Dies, and I found my wood pieces at Hobby Lobby. I made another one with pom poms and found a wooden star that I used on the top instead.  I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that you have a wonderful New Year's.

Christmas Tags

Every year I like to give out candy canes attached to the individual presents.  This year I decided to make Christmas tags out of them.  It was hard to take pictures of them.

I used an old SU stamp set and die Seasonal Chums to make them.  I used these so many times when I was making items for the Wellness Center and decided to brush the dust off of them.  I thought they would be perfect to tie on the candy canes.

This set has a pumpkin, snowman and a reindeer stamps and dies.  I used my zig markers to color them in and tied them on with some ribbon.

I think they turned out so cute!  I plan on wrapping the mittens - which I posted the other week - around them as well and securing them on the individual presents.  Sometimes I wonder how I used to hold a full-time job and get ready for the holidays!  It seems like I am always running behind lately!

I don't know if I will get a chance to post anything else before Christmas, so I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thanks for stopping by,

Nancy

Christmas Card

Well, I finally got around to making some Christmas cards.  I had purchase SU's Buffalo Check stamp set quite a while ago and never put any ink to it so I thought I would try it out on some Christmas cards.  Unfortunately, it was not that easy to use even with my stamp positioner tool.  What I thought would be an easy card to put together turned out the other way!

I conditioned my stamp before I used it and stamped with good black ink but had to do it about 5 times.  Even then the black squares were not stamped well.  In the end, I decided to use my black marker and color in the squares before I got some good coloring.

I used SU's Stitched Circles dies, Gina K's sentiment/dies and her Perfect Poinsettia stamp set for the leaves.  I also decorated the front with some tiny peel it stars.

For my sentiment, I used SU's Stamp set Season Like Christmas and embossed it in gold and added another peel it to decorate the inside.  I am going to have to experiment with another stamp color and see if it stamps better than the black.  It could be just the stamp, but I purchased it too long ago to send it back.  That's what I get for not trying out my stamps right away!
