Sarah's Birthday Card

We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!  Ours was so busy and it went by so fast!!  Sarah celebrated her 14th birthday with friends on Friday and then again with family and friends on Easter Sunday!  Here is the card that I made for her.

She can never get enough ice cream, so I thought the ice cream cone from the Honeycomb Happiness SU stamp set would be a great fit.  I used SU Soft Sky CS for my base card and then my first layer in Whisper White I ran through my Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  Then I mounted a scrap piece of DSP to another piece of Soft Sky.  I stamped my ice cream cone 3 times and cut out the little scoops and colored them with Pool Party, Brushing Bride and Pretty and Pink.  The cone was colored in Creamy Caramel.  I then popped up the cone with some dimensionals and mounted it on a circle cut out with my large circle punch.  I stamped a small heart and the words 4you and added some rhinestones.  I thought it still needed something else, so I tied some ribbon I inked with Melon Mambo.

For the inside, I used the stamp set Party With Cake in Melon Mambo ink.  Sarah loved how it turned out which made me happy!  We had a great Easter.  Jennifer loved the Easter Egg hunt and got right in there hunting for all the eggs!  The girls had off today but it is back to school tomorrow.  Hope everyone has a good week!

Easter Egg Card

Here is my last card I made for Easter this year!  I saw this type of card all over and decided to make some with the supplies I had.  I had never made something like this and absolutely loved how they turned out.

I used SU's Wisteria Wonder CS for my base card.  My Whisper White layers were 4" x 5 1/4" and 3 3/4" x 5".  I the used my Spellbinders Oval Dies to cut out my oval on my 4" x 5 1/4" layer.  I then ran it through my Decorative Dots Embossing folder.  Then using my Work of Art stamp set from SU I started from the top of the other layer using different colors for my egg!

I made sure it was centered under my oval and glued it down  Then I popped up my oval piece with dimensionals.  Using my Petite Petals punch, I made some flowers in Daffodil Delight and Pink Pirouette decorating them with some tiny pearls and a few little leaves made in Old Olive with my die finished the card off.

It's going to be a busy few days.  Sarah's birthday is tomorrow and she is so happy that she doesn't have school tomorrow.  I just took out of the oven her angel food cake and will make her pop over pancakes in the AM with all the trimmings which are her favorites!  I'm feel so bad for all those knee deep in snow, but glad it is not scheduled to come here .

I entered this card in Jo's Scrap Shack Challenge - Anything Goes.

Easter Chick Muslin Cotton Bag

I thought I would do a quick post today as this week is going to be pretty busy!  Jennifer was up yesterday and all the kids dyed eggs - what fun!  I have to admit she was pretty good at it!  I had hard boiled 3 dozen eggs and these kid went through them fast.  She's at the stage where she loves carrying her little pocket book with her and loves to put her special treasures inside.  I made her this cute little cotton bag to put some of her treasures in.

I had done this before for Rachel and Sarah for Halloween - here is the post - but this time I didn't use a stencil.  I stamped my little chick from Honeycomb Happiness in stazon.  Then I put a sheet or CS in the bag to protect it from bleeding through and used my watercolor pen with Crushed Curry.  Be careful not to use too much water, just enough to blend.  I used my Stampin marker Pumpkin Pie for the beak and black for the feet.  I loved how it turned out and so did Jennifer.

She wanted to take goodies to her little friends at daycare so I finished up these goodie bags for her.

As I mentioned before no food is allowed, so for each bag I put some Play Doh, bubbles, little stampers and some jumping frogs!  I figured that would keep them busy for awhile!  I used an old rabbit stamp I have had for years and colored in the nose and ears with Pretty and Pink!

Lamb Easter Card

I have working away making some goodies bags for Jennifer to take to Daycare next week and almost forgot to post an Easter card I made.  When I first saw this lamb stamp in SU's catalog, I knew that I would purchase it - I thought it was so cute.  My husband loves lambs, as he use to raise them for 4H and has passed his love of animals to Jennifer.

I saw a lot of different types/styles in Pinterest but settled on the above.  I made an A2 sized card but saw them made in many different sizes.  My layer was made in Soft Sky which has become one of my favorite colors.  I used my Spellbinders square die to cut out a square in the center of the card for my image which I adhered behind it.  I also used  my scoreboard to score on all 4 sides of the layer just to jazz it up a bit.

I used my aqua painter to color in my little lamb and decided it needed a little bow to finish it off!   I can hardly wait to see Jennifer's face when she sees it!  I was really happy how it turned out.  I was in our yard today checking on our Spring plants popping up enjoying the weather, as the forecast is for snow Sunday!!  The only good thing is that it will warm up and melt anything on the ground, so it won't last for long - thank goodness!  All the kids are dyeing eggs tomorrow, so I had better go cook some!  Have a great weekend!

I submitted this card to Jo's Scrap Shack - Happy Easter Challenge.

Reese's' Peanut Butter Easter Bonnet Treats

I was looking for some goodies to make for the Wellness Center and came across these little beauties!!  Of course, it also helped that Reese's are my favorite snacks - just in case there are any left over!!  These came together so quick and easy.

I saw these on Pinterest and found the blogger that did a great video on how to make them - Simple Simply Stamping.  Check it out for a cute little treat for Easter.  The only thing I did different was that I did not tie bows.  Since I had 50 of them to make, I decided that I would just put little tiny paper flowers on the brim decorated with rhinestones.  If I only had a few to make, I would have tortured myself but decided to take the easy way out!

For now, I put them on a tray until everything else is ready to go.  And yes - there were a few left over, so I treated myself before the kids found them.  They have found most of our hiding places, so I decided just to eat them!!  Hope everyone had a great weekend.  We are looking forward to our St. Patrick's Day dinner!

St. Patrick's Day Balloon Card

Before I started making some Easter cards, I wanted to make my St. Patrick's Day cards.  I saw this card in Pinterest as a birthday card and thought why not for St. Patrick's Day!  I think they turned out cute!

These came together pretty quick - which is what I needed as I needed to send Joe to the Post Office this AM to mail them out!

I used SU's Old Olive paper for the base card with Very Vanilla as my layer which I embossed.  I punched out some balloons with my new balloon punch from SU and just drew some lines in Old Olive going to my sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set from SU.  I can always find a sentiment in that stamp set.  What a great way to use up some scraps!

My sentiment on the inside is a Inkadinkado stamp that I have had for years!  Have a great weekend!
