Bottle Cap Key Rings

Here's another gift for the teachers.  Everyone is doing bottle caps - all sizes and colors!  So, we decided to make some bottle cap key rings to put in the teachers goodie bags for the end of school.

You can make these several ways.  Sarah wanted to make some with the teachers initials.  Some of the bottle caps were already set with a bail wire.  We found a Sticker Pad from Spare Parts with a bunch of stickers in designs and initials.  We just put them in the bottle cap and used an epoxy sticker from Spare Parts to put on top of it.  We used some charms that Rachel had left over from her jewelry designs and secured them onto the ring and then hung them from a 4" ball chain.  We wanted to display them, so I used the smaller tag from my Two Tags die which worked out perfectly!  I punched holes on both sides, put the key chain through the holes and then secured the flap with a dimensional.

The heart key ring was made by flattening the bottle cap in my Big Shot machine - there are a lot of videos out there showing this method.  I used a sticker on the key ring and then flooded the bottle cap with glossy accents and let it dry.  Make sure there are no bubbles in it.  After it dried, I used my E6000 glue to adhere a bail plate on the back of the bottle cap to hang my 4" ball chain.  You can also punch the bottle cap with your hole punch and put your own bail through the hole.  Most of our supplies we purchased at Hobby Lobby.  We could spend hours in that store.   We got some colored ball chains and bottle caps at the Scrapbook Show and plan to make some necklaces.  We really like how they turned out!

Finals start this week so everyone is busy! Alot of year end activities coming up! Hope you have a great week!

Thanks for stopping bye,
Nancy, Rachel & Sarah
