Bear Hugs Valentine Cards for Jennifer

My daughter asked me if I would make some Valentine Cards for Jennifer to take to daycare for her little friends.  I knew exactly what stamp set I would use!!  I just received SU's Bear Hugs stamp set.  When I saw this in the catalog, I knew I would have to have it.  Where Jennifer lives they have bears strolling through the property every now and then, so she knows what a real bear looks like.  Usually, they don't come out until dusk, but one day this summer my daughter was putting some water into Jennifer's little baby pool when Jennifer told her - Mom - bear - she looked up and there was a huge bear standing about 20' from them watching them!!  Fortunately, they were by the garage door and backed up and shut the door!  For a long time when we would go over after that, Jennifer's first statement to us would be - no bear Nanny!!

Recipe:

Stamps - SU's Bear Hugs & Framelits Dies
Paper - Real Red, Whisper White
Ink - Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Real Red
Punches - Heart, Word Window
Accessories - Heart Embossing Folder, Action Wobbles
Embellishments - Red Twine

These were so much fun to make.  I used my bone folder to bend the paw forward and was planning on putting a lollipop sucker in the paws for the kids, but found out NO GOODIES!!  Nothing but cards!  What a bummer!!  So I put a red heart in one paw and a little sentiment that said Friend in the other paw.  I also colored the bears in different shades of brown as well.

I tied some twine on the bottom and stamped a "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment on the inside.  I also put a Action Wobble on the bear so he spins around.  I forgot to take a picture of the envelope but I also stamped little red open hearts all over them.  I loved how they turned out even though they were minus the lollipop!!

We had some snow last night but only a few inches - not like the last time thank goodness!

Thanks for stopping by,
Nancy, Rachel & Sarah

Also forgot to add up there in my comment.. I can't imagine have bears in my backyard. YIKES... I know my husband's Aunt who lives in Alaska gets to see moose all the time. We are blessed with trains.. haha .. I must say again, well done on the cards.

First of all, your cards are adorable! These are perfect for Jennifer to take to school. Second, I cannot imagine having bears in the yard. There are bears in this area, but so far they haven't come to town. A neighbor saw a coyote looking through his fence at his little dogs, and we had a bobcat in the woods behind our house, but no bear. Not usually anything to be scared of. The coyote is somewhat worrisome. People say they see cougars, but I don't know how many of those sightings are accurate here in town.
