Quilled Shamrock Card

I haven't done much quilling the past year, but when I saw this cute card in the recent Cardmaker's Magazine I got out my quilling supplies!  I think this card could also be made with a heart, bunny, etc.

I didn't follow all the directions - naturally - as they called for you to paint paper, etc.  I substituted my gold foil paper but was in such a hurry, I glued my layers together and then wasn't able to put in my eyelets as my crop-a-dile wasn't long enough, so I just tied my bow along with the sentiment and left them out.

Here's a closeup of the card.  You can view the magazine online and this pattern is the freebie for the month.  If you haven't done any quilling, don't let that stop you.  There are a lot of videos on youtube showing basic instructions for quilling.  You don't even need special paper.  You can cut your own DSP or CS in the desired length and width and just use you fingers to roll the paper instead of a tool.   But watch out - it is additive!

We had a great time today playing with Jennifer!  She is really starting to move around and be so responsive.  I was rocking and singing to her and she started making these cute noises like she was singling along with me!  These kids really suck you in!!

Is everyone having their corn beef and cabbage this weekend?  We're getting together at the girls house for dinner on Sunday, but not until we go to the Scrapbook Show in Allentown, PA.  We look so forward to this show every year.  Sarah loves the Make n' takes.  Rachel was sick last year and now is sick again, but I hope she'll feel better by Sunday.  I think we all need some sun and warm weather!  Have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping bye,
Nancy, Rachel & Sarah

This card was entered in Cardz TV 3-D Challenge #3

Quilling, too? You've got all kinds of tricks up your sleeve. Another thing I wouldn't mind trying if/when I have more time. Super cute on the shamrock! You know, I completely forgot that corned beef is always on sale just before St. Patrick's Day. Usually I pick up a few extra for the freezer. Darn!
