Snowflake Rosettes

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  It's hard to believe that a New Year is right around the corner.  For the first time in many years, I didn't get to make any Christmas cards made except two for Jennifer and Juan.  Sarah was so nice and came up and brought down all of our decorations from the attic and decorated our house for Christmas.  She did such a beautiful job.

A few months ago, I saw these cute snowflakes dies from Jim Holtz - Sizzix 666567 Thinlet rosette and snowflake rosette die - Decembet 2025.  I use to make so many of them and enjoyed making them, so I decided to make some for the family to put on their presents.  That was my big craft project for the season.

I made these with leftover DSP and used the snowflake centers that came from Jim Holtz as well.

I quickly remembered not to use thin DSP as the early ones split on the seams so I had to dig deeper into my stash!

I tied on some gold twine so they can be used on their trees in the future.  I really enjoyed making these and loved how they turned out!  Here are some pictures of Sarah's hard work!

Here is a picture of Jennifer with Daisy and their new rescue Lily taking a picture with Santa!

It has been so cold, snowy and windy here, but New Year's Eve should be better.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get more time to spend in my craft room in the coming year!  Joe wants to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. He is recovering and doing well.  We wish you all a wonderful Happy New Year!

Halloween Goodie Bags for Juan

Juan had his Halloween party at pre-school today and took his goodie bags I had made for him to give out to the kids. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain, so they had to have their parade inside.   I got this cute kit called Sweet and Spooky from SU and thought it would be perfect for him.  It made 15 boxes which was just the right number!!

First I put all the boxes together.  They are basically milk box containers with a cute collection of ephemera to decorate them.

Then I added the pumpkin tags from SU's Seasonal Chum stamp and Die set.  Another oldie but goodie.  I have used this set so many times over the years as it has reindeer and snowmen tags a well.

I put each of them into baggies along with the ghost lollipops I make every year and tied it together with the tags.

Here he is at the pumpkin patch where the school took the kids the other day.  I didn't get a picture of him in his costume.  Of course he was the Hulk!! Hope it stops raining tomorrow for the kids to go trick or treating!

Jennifer's Birthday Party and card

It has been a busy month so far.  We decided to celebrate Jennifer's birthday early this year as she will be with her Dad this year and Joe is having surgery.  We had so much fun which is what we all needed.  Every year since she was born I try and put the number of pumpkins for her age on her card and as she is getting older the card is a challenge.

This year she will turn 12 on Halloween and we squeezed them all on her card!  I used SU's Pumpkin Pie for my base card and was able to match up some scrap DSP for my layer.  I used SU's # of Years stamp set and die AGAIN MY FAVORITE and decorated the front with my little pumpkins and witches hat.  The sentiment is from Pretty Pink - Halloween Corner dies/stamps.

For my inside sentiment, I used another old SU stamp set called Perennial Birthday and used up my last pumpkin!

Fortunately, I had some extra wax seals from last year.  I used one of the glow in the dark ghost.

Here is a picture of Jennifer and her best friend Daisy!

It looks like Juan has made a friend as well.  She is such a wonderful dog.

Before they left they painted their pumpkins.  Here is a picture of Juan's that he painted black and sprinkled with glitter.  It is hard to believe she will be a teenager next year!  I want to thank everyone for their best wishes and prayers for Joe.  He has been through a lot the pass few months and we ask for your prayers again for this Friday for a positive outcome.

Birthday Card for Juan

It is hard to believe that Sarah's son just turned 4 years old.  I managed to get into my craft room to make him a card.  I didn't have a lot of time but I liked how the card turned out.

Whenever I can I try and use up some of my scraps of DSP.  This was in my pile and I thought the candles were cute as he loves to blow them out!  My CS I used was SU's Lost Lagoon which I love and I used SU's Stamp/die set # of Years for the sentiment.  I purchased this a long time a go and it has been one of my most used sets.

For my inside sentiment, I used what was still on my desk the Happiest of Birthday stamp set from SU.  I love how it fills up the inside of the card.  Not to waste a scrap of the DSP, I decorated the side of the CS.

Here is a picture of him already to go back to Nursery School.  This year he goes 3 days a week!  He even got a haircut for the occasion which made him look so grown up!

School Magnets for Jennifer

I haven't had much time in my craft room lately, but I had put these cuties together awhile ago for Jennifer as she will have a locker this year in Middle School.  I made these years ago for the girls and thought she will have fun with them. as well.

I used a Sizzix die to cut out the faces and backed them up with several layers of different colored CS to give them strength.  Then I layered them with some Mod Podge and when dry I glued them to a strong magnet.

Here's a closer look of the faces.  I had  an Altoid tin in my stash to store them.  I love making cards but I forgot how much fun it is to make some craft items.  It is hard to believe that she starts 7th Grade and is in Middle School. Thanks for the well wishes for Joe.  He had another surgery this week and is home recovering.

Birthday Card

It has been awhile since I last posted anything.  Things have been somewhat hectic here.  Joe has been in and out of the ER and ended up having surgery last week  so I have not had much time in my craft room.  I did manage to make a card for my daughter's birthday.  Fortunately, I had started it and only had to put the finishing touches together.

I ended up using some more of SU's Brushed gold CS for my base card even though it looks like silver in the picture.  I used SU's Gorgeous Grape CS for my layer which I used gold embossing powder on my Gina K's stamp Frame Flora.  I embossed the heart first and then embossed one of the sentiments inside the heart.

For my inside sentiment, I used one of my favorite SU stamps - Happiest of Birthdays.  I had something else in mine, but considering the time frame I went with this which I thought turned out OK.

Graduation Card

It's hard to believe but Jennifer graduated from 6th Grade.  They had a very nice ceremony for the class.  She will be going into the Middle School in September!!  Oh boy!!

For her card, I used some Brushed Silver CS I had left from SU with some lavender DSP I had in my stash with some pretty stars on it.  I punched some additional stars from silver foil to match the paper and my sentiment as well.

My inside sentiment is from Gina K's stamps and added some more stars!  It came together pretty quick which was good as I was running out of time.

Here she is on stage.  She got an award for getting Honors all year.  It was a nice evening and fortunately it was inside as the weather here has been so terribly hot!  We hope everyone has a wonderful 4thof July!

Birthday Card

Lots of birthdays coming up.  I made this card for my youngest daughter Jeannie.  She loves flowers and has some gorgeous ones in her garden.

A friend of mine gave me this Gina K Twisted Stems stencil and I thought it would be perfect for her.  I cut is out with Gina's ML#2 set using SU's Garden Green CS for my base card layering it with Black and white layers.  I used her Pink Carnation colors for the shades of pink and her Green Spruce colors for the leaves. For my sentiment, I used SU's Little Ladybug.  .

My inside sentiment was from SU's Happiest of Birthday stamp set.  Today's stencil sets are so easy to use.  I was really pleased how the flowers turned out.

I submitted this card over at - Stencil fun challenge.

Mother's Day Cards

When I was thinking about making some cards for Mother's Day, I was looking through my embossing folders and came across this oldie but goodie! Does anyone still  have any Cuttlebug Embossing Folders?

I used He Loves Me folder.  I can't remember when I used it last.  I used my Gina K's ML#2 to cut my SU's Wisteria Wonder CS for my layer and adhered it to my base card in Daffodil Delight.  Love these colors together.

For my sentiment, I used Concord & 9th stamp set - In The Bag. I thought it looked cute inside of the heart.  I also added some gems for some sparkle.

For my inside sentiment, I used my old stamp from Michael's and added a few hearts.  I think this embossing folder can be used for so may other occasions.  I found another one that I will have to dust off.

Rachel's Birthday Card

I have a few cards that I have wanted  to post but here it is - another week starting!  I am trying to get caught up but life seems to get in the way!  This card I made for Rachel's birthday.  Hard to believe our first Grandchild turned 25!

She loves butterflies, so I chose this stencil called Butterfly Garden from Gina K.  I did some ink blending with some pink and purple colors and framed it with black CS and used SU's Highland Heather CS for my base card using Gina's ML#2.  For my sentiment, I used Gina K's Holiday Floral Poly-glaze/die with her lavender foil and sprinkled some gems around to make the butterflies sparkle.

My inside sentiment was from SU's Happiest of Birthdays stamp set.  I used some leftover blended stencil paper to decorate the side of the card.   I love how the butterfly stencil turned out!  I will definitely be using it again.

Bunny Easter cards

I know Easter is over but I forgot to post these cute bunny cards I made the kids for Easter.  They are too cute to forget.

I was running out of time, so I decided to use Gina K'S Tapestry Embossing folder for my base layer.  For my sentiment, I used SU's Easter Bunny stamp set and the matching bunny punch and rounded my corners.  I popped them up a with a wobble and tied a small bow on them.

For my inside sentiment, I used one of my favorite stamps from Michael's.  Quick and simple card!  Working on birthday and Mother's Day cards.  Everything comes at once.

Easter Cards

Here are some of the cards that I made for Easter.  I have been so busy doing everything but what I want to do I am slow getting them posted! LOL!! It is hard to believe that Easter is over and we are moving right into May.  Everyone was here for Easter and our annual egg hunt.  The Easter bunny is slowing down!

I used Gina K's Poly-glaze sheets and used green and purple foil for my base cards.  I also used the negative sheet to foil it again which are the darker cards.  My sentiment comes from SU's Easter Bunny stamp set.

For my inside sentiment, I used the same SU stamp set.

I did the same technique but this time using green foil.

It's hard to decide which technique I like the best. We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  The wind has finally stop so we are busy trying to get some work down outside.  Joe did his first mowing and I'm enjoying seeing the flowers bloom.

Sarah's Birthday card

We  had a busy week celebrating Sarah's birthday.  Hard to believe that she turned 23 years old!  It seems like yesterday that we were taking Rachel down to the hospital to meet her new sister!!  I had an idea of the card I wanted to make her and it didn't turn out that way for a number of reasons but in the end it was OK.

I used one of my favorite colors from SU - Melon Mambo - for the  base card and teamed it up with some DSP with matching candles in the same color.  I used my Spellbinders scalloped oval die and popped it up over my Layering Candle stencils from Gina K.  It's hard to see but I used some silver paste on the second stencil.

For my inside sentiment, I used Gina K's stamp set Luck and Love and jazzed it up with some leftover DSP.

Here's a picture of Sarah and Juan.  He wanted her to have a spider man cake!!  Everyone is growing up!
