Flame Floral Birthday Card

I was cleaning up my desk this morning and realized that I didn't post Sarah's birthday card.  It is hard to believe that she turned 21!! Things were so screwed up being sick with Covid.  We didn't get to celebrate her birthday until Easter.  I decided to use a stamp set called Frame Flora by Gina K.  It has so many nice stamps/dies.

I used her 5 /8" Masking Magic on a piece of  3 1/2" x 4 3/4" white CS and did some light stamp blending.  Then I stamped over it with the main stamp and then with the Love You in the banner.  This stamp set has nice different sentiments that you can use.

Here is one that I used for inside the card along with some leaves that I stamped.  Here are some pictures of the kids looking for eggs.

Daisy had to get into the hunt as well!

The baby needed some help to get this large one!

These two definitely had a bond!

Sarah's Birthday Card

It seems like everything comes in bunches.  I have a few projects on the back burner but, I can't seem to get back to them.  I have a bunch of birthdays coming up so everything stops so I can get their cards made.  Then on top of this there are Easter cards and goodies to be made and we go on and on!  Well, the first card I made is for  Sarah's birthday.  Talk about where does time go - she will be 19 years old!  That seems impossible!  I decided to make her a more grown up card this year.  Of course, I went to my Heartfelt Creations stash and came up with this card.

I used the Burst of Spring collection.  Why?  Because it has pansies in it!  This card came together really quick.  I used some 12"x12" white CS and cut it down to a 6"x6" base card.  My first layer is some purple CS I had in my stash and the next layer is from their DSP collection.  I used their Petite Pocket Accent die to cut out another piece of purple CS and the two decorative pieces of that die on white CS and used some foam tape to pop it up.

This is the first time I used some ribbon behind my flowers.  It is a sheer purple ribbon and hard to see.  The next time I will make my bows bigger so they will stand out more.  My pansies and leaves are from the same collection and I used gold prills for the center.   Even the little tag was included in the collection.  I also decided to add some gems at the last minute.

For my inside paper, I used a 6"x6" panel from the DSP collection.  I love how everything goes so well together.  Well, one card down and a few more to go.  Believe it or not it is snowing here tonight.  We are not suppose to get any accumulation but it is nasty and cold again!  I was so happy yesterday as I saw some ore robins!!  I think that is a good sign.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

In the midst of choas, Sarah is celebrating her 18th birthday today.  She got a call that her school is suppose to start again on April 6th but I have my doubt.  Jennifer's school has extended her closing to April 17th, so we will wait and see.  I created this cute cupcake card for her as she will never turn one down.

I used SU's Pool Party CS for the base card and Heartfelt Sugarspun Collection for the cupcake.  The die is the Regal Frame and Accents die from Heartfelt as well.  I colored my cupcake in Archival Vibrant Fuschia and Crumb Cake.  For the number 18, I die cut it 3 times to make it stand out a bit and used Crystal Lacquer to give is some gloss.  For my icing, I used my Silver Star Gelly Roll pen to highlight the little hearts.

For my inside sentiment, I used some of the DSP that is in the collection along with the party hat die.  Sarah always had to have a party hat to wear on her birthday!  It is so nice that with modern technology one can stay in touch with friends and family.  My facetime is definately getting a workout.

I hope everyone is doing Ok with COVID-19.  It has definitely changed everyone's lives but we feel lucky none of us has become sick so far.  I worry about my daughter, who is a nurse, still working in the hospital.  Since they closed the Wellness Center and Cardiac Care Unit she is helping monitor the 800 help #.  We are keeping everyone in our thoughts and prayers.

Diaper Fold Packaging

Along with the card that I posted for Jennifer to give her Mom, I needed some type of packaging to put her gift in.  I had seen these cute Diaper Folds in all different sizes which was just what I was looking for.  I like checking out Stamping to Share's blog, and she showcased the Diaper Fold in different sizes -  Check out her video.

I made the 10" size and it was perfect for what I needed.  I don't know why I had never seen these before, but I think they are great and will use them again in the future,  I just stuck a bow on the front as I didn't have a lot of time, but you could decorate these in many different ways.  Here is another way to use up some of your scrap/old DSP.

UPDATE:

A blogger friend of mine liked this Diaper Fold post and made a really cute one for Father's Day and another one where she made an adorable Flower Pot card to put inside with some goodies!

Check out her blog and see how cute they turned out - PJ's Projects!

Here is a picture of Rachel and her boyfriend before going to the prom.

I thought this was a cute picture of Rachel and Sarah.

The girls and their Mom were down at LBI - Long Beach Island for the holiday and came home today.  Everyone had a great time and the weather was good.  Jennifer stopped by to see us yesterday and we had a great time. Boy does she like hot dogs and corn on the cob!!   Everyone is growing up way too quickly.  Well, its going to be a short week - thank goodness!

We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend spending time with their family and friends!  Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!

Well, today is Sarah's 13th birthday!  I wanted to make a special card for her and of course it had to be in her favorite color - PINK!  She was so happy that her birthday fell on a Wed. this year, as all the girls dress in PINK on Weds. at school.  I had been debating on purchasing the small bow punch from SU, as I have the large bow die cut which I love.  I finally broke down and purchased it and I'm so glad I did.  I saw a lot of cards with bows on them and knew I wanted to make one for her special day.

I used SU's Whisper White CS for the base, and for my first layer I used some DSP I had and made it 1/8" smaller in size.  My next layer was in Whisper White 1/8" smaller and I adhered my 3 bows I had made using my punch.  My sentiment was $1 stamp from Michael's which I love.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside and it is already sealed.  I put a birthday sentiment and decorated the inside with some small hearts punched out with the same DSP paper.

Rachel surprised her with a lovely bouquet of flowers last night as an early birthday present.  I just finished baking her a chocolate cake with pink icing and it is all ready for us to devour tonight.  She and her friends are going roller skating on Saturday and then she is having a sleepover.  I'm glad it is rain coming and not snow!

Sarah - we hope you have a wonderful birthday (even though you have to go to school)!  It is so hard to believe that you are going to become a teenager!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

Birthday Card by Sarah

Sarah's best friend Megan is celebrating her birthday today and she wanted to make her a card.  So we set out trying to find some birthday greetings in our new craft space - which took awhile!  You think you are putting things away where you will remember where they are but only to find that you remember where they were at the old craft space! So we had to hunt for awhile!

She used their favorite color - pink - and decorated it with a greeting and a cupcake stamp I have had forever from Michael's that she colored and then cut out and popped it up with a peel and stick wobble. She loves to use them!  She added some ribbon and a paper with a button and she was done.  I think Megan will love it!

                  Happy Birthday Megan!!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Ours was blessed with a visit by Jennifer.  We dusted off the old high chair for her.  Hard to believe that her Mom used the same one!  Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Rachel!!!!

We had a great day yesterday celebrating Rachel's 14th birthday - the weather even cooperated for a change!  Here is the card I made for her.

Recipe:

Stamps - Remembering your birthday , Flower Shop - SU
Ink - Island Indigo - SU
Paper - Island Indigo, Melon Mambo, DSP, Wisher White - SU
Accessories - Ovals Collection, Banner Dies and Flower Shop Punch
Embellishments - Large Pearls

This card came together really quick.  It is an A2 sized card with DSP layer of 4" x 5 1/4".   I stamped out my saying on the oval dies I had cut out and placed them on the card with the banner die cutouts.  Then I punched out my pansies decorating them with some pearls and adhered them to my card.

Here is the inside sentiment.  I thought it was so cute!

Rachel loved it!

Here's a picture I snapped of Rachel, Sarah and Jennifer.  Jennifer loved looking at the balloons!  Today is my youngest daughter's birthday - Jennifer's Mom's - Happy Birthday Jeannie!  And the month is just starting!!
