My friend Martha has been up from Florida visiting her family for the summer. We always try to get together at least once a week for some stamping fun! This week we decided to make this adorable card for our granddaughters. We just thought it was so cute and that they would like the spinner aspect of the card as well.
What do you think - cute, isn't it! We saw this great VIDEO from Brenda Quintana. She does such an amazing job with her videos. I just love how the star spins. I didn't have the new punch for the sentiment, so we used my window punch which worked out just as well. I was surprised that the Wink of Stella even shows through the photo.
The only problem we ran into was that I didn't realize the star punches I had weren't the right size. One was too small and the other one was too large. SU makes a medium size star which I didn't have. You have to make sure that the penny is covered. The small star didn't do that The large star did but was just too large for the card. So, we made our own template and traced it unto the Shimmery Silver paper and cut them out. That was the hardest part of making this card. It actually took longer than making the entire card! I think it turned out pretty good though! Jennifer is on vacation, so I'm going to put it in the mail to her, so she will get it when she comes home!

Engagement Card
We had a lovely surprise to celebrate the past few weeks. Rachel and Sarah's Mom got engaged for her birthday! Everyone is so excited!! So, of course I decided to make a card. I saw this on Pinterest and decided to change it up a bit.
I used the embossing folder - Manhattan Flower - on Very Vanilla CS. Then I did it again and cut out the actually flower. I then outlined the flower with a copper gel pen. It was a bit of a challenge, but I went slow and I really liked how it turned out.
I decided I wanted to use my copper embossing powder for my sentiment. Well, I was surprised when it turned out not the same copper color. Soooo, I embossed another piece of CS and set it aside and took out some stamp pads I thought would match up. Believe it or not Pumpkin Pie matched perfectly! So, then I stamped my sentiment on the front with my Whimsical Words SU Stamp Set. I love this set and have definitely got my money's worth. I have used it so many times. I then popped it up with dimensionals on the front of the card over the flower. I had ordered some of the new Enamel Shapes in the Brights and was able to use the hearts. Sometimes things do come together! They loved the card and have asked me to make their wedding announcements and other things for the wedding - oh boy! I think I will be busy!
This is the last week of summer vacation for the girls! Yah!! for Joe and me! Both will be in high school this year, so at least they will be on the same time frame! Hope you have a great week - it is suppose to get a little cooler here, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Birthday Card - # of Years
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Boy, was it hot here!! Sunday was the hottest day with temps over 100! We were suppose to go the church's annual Peach Festival but didn't have the strength or will power to go. The youngsters went but didn't stay long, but brought home our dinner which was great as always!!
I was thinking about what to blog, and I remembered that I didn't show the birthday card I made for Joe. I was so happy how it turned out.
Recipe:
Ink - Basic Black
Paper - Very Vanilla, Old Olive, scrap DSP
Stamps - # of Years, Perfect Pairings
Accessories - # of Years Dies, Triple Banner Punch, Scalloped Tag Topper
Embellishments - Twine
I cut my basic card 11" x 4 1/4" and scored in half. My first layer of Old Olive was 5" x 3 7/8". My second layer of DSP was 3 5/8" x 4 5/8". My tag was cut 2" x 4 1/2. I tied my twine in a bow and adhered it on the DSP. I used my die to cut out my numbers and popped them up with dimensionals. I stamped my greeting on a piece of Old Olive 3 7/8" 1 1/8". I love this sentiment that comes in the # of Years set.
Here is the inside of the card using the Perfect Pairings stamp set.
As you can tell my picture isn't that good, but I stamped it on a piece of Old Olive 3/7/8 x 5". He really liked his card. Well, 2 weeks from today the girls go back to school. I don't think they want to admit it but I think they are happy about it. There is only so much you can do in all this heat! Hope you have a great week ahead for you.

Cupcake Kiss Tent
We hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was pretty busy. Joe's birthday was Friday, so we celebrated it on Sunday with family and friends over at Jennifer's house. We had a great time. My daughter just had a patio put outside, so we definitely initiated it! Everyone cooked and brought something to eat, but I decided to make these adorable cupcake kiss tents that I had seen over at Brenda Quintana's website using the cupcake builder punch.
Since I was making a bunch of them, I started making the tents first. I used a 12" x 12" chocolate chip CS from SU and I didn't have any waste.
Then I made the tops to the cupcake. In her video she cut the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp in half, but I didn't want to do that so I used a stamp set I had with some sprinkles on it instead. This is a great way to use up your leftover scraps. I think they turned out cute.
Then I glued them together and put the kisses inside. Of course, I had to eat some of the kisses to make sure they were fresh!!
To display them I put them on my little tier plates. Everyone loved them and they looked so nice on the dessert table at my daughter's.
Some people took them home with them, but some just took out the candy and left the cupcake which is nice so I can reuse them. Next birthday is Jennifer's in October, so she will be happy to see them again, She liked taking out the kiss, eating it and then putting the paper foil back into the tent!!
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Sympathy Card
Unfortunately, I needed to make a sympathy card over the weekend. I didn't have any in my stash, so I decided to use my favorite Botanical die and CASE this card I saw in Pinterest. As usual, I changed it up a bit.
The original had only white for the flowers, but I decided to add some color to them.
Recipe:
Ink - Lost Lagoon
Stamps - Party Pants, Sympathy sentiment
Paper - Whisper White Thick and regular, Lost Lagoon
Accessories - Botanical Die
Embellishments - Pearls, Wink of Stella
My base card is 5 1/2" x 4 x 1/4" in thick Whisper White. I just ordered this and wanted to try it out. My layer of Lost Lagoon is 3 3/4" x 5" and my layer of regular Whisper White is 3 5/8" x 4 7/8". I used the Lost Lagoon CS for the center of the flowers as well, and then sponged the edges on the outer petals with it for some added color. I popped them up with dimensionals and slipped some leaves underneath. I used my clear Wink of Stella on the petals so they would stand out. Love how this makes them look!
Here is a picture of the inside sentiment. The only sympathy stamp I have is an old wood one that I have had for years.
Well, it is going to be a busy week. Joe just left for his other cataract surgery. We will be glad when this is behind us. The girls are in the last few weeks of summer - hard to believe that it is August! Hope your week ahead is good!
