Birdhouse Card

This card has been in the works for months.  I started it right before we got Covid.  My friend moved into her new house in a new state the beginning of the year, and I knew I wanted to make her this card.  The pieces have been laying on my desk in my unfinished pile!  What's the saying - better late than never!!

I used Scrappy Tails birdhouse dies and SU's Simple Stripes embossing folder to make the main birdhouse.  For my CS, I used SU's Crushed Curry and Old Olive.  I decorated it with flower dies from the Greetery and my little bird is from Papertry Ink's Feathered Friends #2.

You can put it together on the top so it opens up from the top, but I decided to make an accordion fold on each side so it lays flat in the envelope but will pop open and stand on its own.  The size is a slime line card.

This is the back where I used one of my punches to write a sentiment.  I hope my friend likes it.  My daughter Jeannie and Jennifer are in Texas this week on vacation.  First in San Antonio and the River Walk and then to Waco to see the Silo with Joanna and Chip Gaines.  Of course, they are having a heat wave!!  Last week we watched Jennifer since school was out and she wanted to work on a craft.  Have you heard about Diamond Painting?  I thought she would like them and got her some sticker ones to make.  I had put them in her Easter basket and they were waiting for her to make them.  They turned out so cute!  I thought she would only make one but she said they were very addictive and couldn't stop.  Here are some of the ones she made.

They come on sheets and you cut them out and then put the little gems on them.  She made me a panda one and I put it on my PC.

Here is a picture of Jennifer on her last day of school.

It's hard to believe that she will be going onto 5th grade next year.  Time is going way too fast.

Joe's Father's Day Card

Here is the card that I made for Joe for Father's Day.  I saw several like this made with the silver paper in Pinterest and liked how they looked so I decided to try it out!

I used white for the card base, basic black for the first layer and the silver CS for the next layer. Then I used the large circle embossing folder on the silver CS.  I love how the back ground turned out.  I used SU's Botanicals For You stamp set and cut it out with Spellbinders Oval Die and added some black and silver gems and some twine from my stash.

For my sentiment, I used the same stamp set and my Father's Day stamp from Stampabilities.  Everyone came over on Saturday to celebrate due to their schedules.  I did not have it finished in time, but after all Father's Day is next Sunday, so I have time!  LOL!!  I was happy how it turned out!

Father's Day Card

Well, I have moved onto making some Father's Day cards.  It is hard to believe that we are already into the month of  June!  I hope summer slows down some!!  My daughter's boyfriend like his motorcycle. so I decided to make his card from SU's One Wild Ride stamp set.

I saw several of these two panel cards in Pinterest and decided to make one.  I used black for my base card and crushed curry for my next layer. I cut my Very Vanilla layer  3 1/2" x 5" and stamped my images.  Then I just cut the CS in half so each panel was 1 3/4" x 5" which made it so easy to line up.

For my inside sentiment, I used an old Stampabilities stamp.  I find I am using a lot of my old stamp collections lately.  I was so disappointed to hear that Heartfelt Creations is shutting down their business by the end of the year.  I am definitely going to cherish the stamp sets that I have acquired during the past few years.

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day.  We went away for a few days to Sylvan Beach, NY. with my daughter and Jennifer.  We had a wonderful time.  They advertised that it was ADA Compliant, so we decided too check it out and was pleasantly surprised.  The cottage was perfect with everything accessible for me including a ramp into the front door!  No steps! A pontoon boat came with the cottage as long as you had your NY boating license, so my daughter and Joe went online and got theirs!!  We had such a good time in it!!

I didn't think I would be able to get in it but the crew had everything ready for me.

They had this ramp where I could actually drive my scooter on it right into the boat!  They even picked it up and turned it around so when we were ready to get out I could drive right out!  I was so impressed and happy to be on the water again.

Of course, the next outing was fishing.  Jennifer was determined to catch her first fish.  She got right into it and helped Poppy with the worms!!

I don't know who was more excited - Jennifer, Poppy or my daughter.  She caught her first fish - a 7" bass!

Here is a picture of the successful duo!!  We had so much fun.  We also  found out that the place is dog friendly, so Daisy will be coming  along next time!
