I wanted to make a birthday card for my friend who loves flowers and working in the garden. In keeping with cleaning out my stash, I found these cute 3D flowers that you put together step-by-step to achieve the final product. I think I had purchased them at a Scrapbook Show a few years ago.
They are pretty easy to put together. After punching out the flowers and petals, you layer them on top of each other using dimensionals. I decided to use Garden Green for the base card as I liked how it matched the color of the petals. I used the Heart Embossing folder with Pretty and Pink CS for the layer that I adhered the 3D flowers to. I colored my ribbon with my SU markers in those 2 colors and tied them in just a knot. Then I used my Word Window and Modern Label punches for my sentiment. I really like how the flowers pop out on the card. These actually fit in an A2 envelope with only a little extra postage which is nice.
We are expecting rain all weekend which is fine with me as long as it isn't snow! April showers bring May flowers and I'm ready to see all my Spring flowers pop up! Hope you have a good weekend.
Thanks for stopping bye,

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!
Sarah turns 12 years old today - boy did that time fly!! We had a great time at her party Sunday. Now I can show you the card I made for her!
This pop-up card is all over the blogs with a lot of videos out there. At first I was a little nervous about making it but when I was over at Denise's house making some cards we decided to go for it and it came together pretty quick. She had a Martha Stewart balloon punch which worked out great, and I used some of my Judith peg stamps for the small cake and cupcake. I has some leftover red hearts from Valentine's Day projects and put them in as well. I really loved how it turned out.
Here's a picture of SU's new stretch ribbon that I decorated the box with. I'm definitely going to make some more of these - and Sarah loved it!
And what's a birthday without cake! She had a picture of Minecraft (her favorite past time) put on it and she was in her glory when her heroes - Amy Lee and Stampy Longnose - sent her a birthday wish on twitter.
Here's a picture of all our girls together - what a crew! Jennifer loved the candles and balloons! Hope everyone had as much fun as we did this weekend - now if it doesn't snow today all will be well!

Kids Birthday Cards
It seems like these birthdays are coming fast - one right after another! My daughter's stepson celebrates his 15th birthday right after Sarah, so I had 2 cards to make this week! I won't show you Sarah's until next week so not to ruin the surprise - I know you're watching!!!
I always find boys card hard to make as I usually make a lot of girl cards but decided to use this SU
stamp I had purchased called Tag It.. Originally, I got this stamp for the Xmas image but thought this image would work for Charlie's card.
Actually, this card came together pretty quick once I decided what stamp to use. I decided to score the layer 1/2" on all sides and stamped it in Old Olive on a piece of Very Vanilla CS. I then mounted the layer on a A2 size card base in Old Olive. I went through my stock of peel it embellishments and chose these cute stars to place over the score lines.
For the inside I also scored my paper and stamped it with my sentiment stamp from Michael's. Then decided I needed something else and used a cupcake peel it.
Here's a picture that my friend Denise took at the Scrapbooking Show Sunday. We had a great time and Sarah got into making the Make and Takes again this year!!
She made this cute card for Mother's Day and then for the other card she used this type of glue over some embossed butterflies to adhere the glitter. What I liked about it was that it had a small brush on the handle that you could use it to paint the glue on the embossed pictures. It gave her a lot better control where she wanted the glue to be applied.
Well, we are going to have a big weekend - Sarah's family birthday party is Sunday! Hard to believe that she is going to be 12 years old!! We hope that whatever you decide to do this weekend, it will be filled with fun!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!
A few years ago, I put together these cute little baskets to give to Rachel and Sarah for St. Patrick's Day! Now every year I get them out of storage and fill them with their little bags of coins made of chocolate. I think it has become a ritual as they look to seeing them every year, and this year was no exception. Next year I'll have to make one for Jennifer, but we decided that we'll put in some animal crackers for awhile!
I got the instructions from Chic n'Scratch. I used my Just Rite stamps for the greeting and some cute ribbon from Michael's with some tiny green brads to secure it. Funny, it's not a big item but one they remember and look forward to.
We had a busy day. Sarah and I went to the Scrapbook Show in Allentown today and had a great time! During the week I'll show you some of our goodies. We then had our corn beef and cabbage at our daughter's and were joined by Jennifer and her Mom. Other than Rachel being under the weather, we all had a great time! Hopefully the snowstorm will miss us this time and we can look forward to spring!
Everyone here at the Pansy Patch wants to wish you and your families a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Quilled Shamrock Card
I haven't done much quilling the past year, but when I saw this cute card in the recent Cardmaker's Magazine I got out my quilling supplies! I think this card could also be made with a heart, bunny, etc.
I didn't follow all the directions - naturally - as they called for you to paint paper, etc. I substituted my gold foil paper but was in such a hurry, I glued my layers together and then wasn't able to put in my eyelets as my crop-a-dile wasn't long enough, so I just tied my bow along with the sentiment and left them out.
Here's a closeup of the card. You can view the magazine online and this pattern is the freebie for the month. If you haven't done any quilling, don't let that stop you. There are a lot of videos on youtube showing basic instructions for quilling. You don't even need special paper. You can cut your own DSP or CS in the desired length and width and just use you fingers to roll the paper instead of a tool. But watch out - it is additive!
We had a great time today playing with Jennifer! She is really starting to move around and be so responsive. I was rocking and singing to her and she started making these cute noises like she was singling along with me! These kids really suck you in!!
Is everyone having their corn beef and cabbage this weekend? We're getting together at the girls house for dinner on Sunday, but not until we go to the Scrapbook Show in Allentown, PA. We look so forward to this show every year. Sarah loves the Make n' takes. Rachel was sick last year and now is sick again, but I hope she'll feel better by Sunday. I think we all need some sun and warm weather! Have a great weekend!

Owl Shamrock Card
I saw this adorable card on Paper Boutique and knew that I wanted to make it for the girls Mom as she loves owls! I didn't make a lot of St. Patrick's Day cards this year but knew I had to make this one!
I don't have the Silhouette, so I asked my friend Denise if we could have a craft day and make some. I love how they turned out. Here's a close up.
The only thing I did different was use punches for the eyes. Here's a look at the inside. I saw this stamp and fell in love with the wording and got it on Amazon with my points.
I enter all the contests out there for the Silhouette - maybe one day I'll win one. It looks really neat!
Joe, Rachel and I babysat for Jennifer yesterday and had a busy time. She is growing so fast. Sarah didn't get to go as she had a dance in school. Hope everyone had some sunshine in their day - the warm weather here was great - but snow is due to come back mid-week!!!

Shamrock Card
Here's another St. Patrick's Day card I made over the weekend. I haven't used my cricut for awhile, so I thought I would use it with this card. Actually, this card is pretty simple once you get started. Is anyone thinking about getting the new Cricut Explore which is coming out soon?
Recipe:
Ink - Crumb Cake - SU
Paper - Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Green Galore - we really loved that color!!!
Accessories - Cricut Cartridge - Accent Essentials
Embellishments - Gem and tiny shamrocks
I cut my Crumb Cake 4 1/4" x 11" and scored in the center. Sponge the edges with some Crumb Cake ink. My layer is 4" x 5 1/4" in Crumb Cake and sponged as well. I cut out 4 solid hearts in Garden Green, 8 open hearts at 2" in Green Galore and 2 swirls at 3 3/4" - one of each color. Adhere the solid green hearts first forming your shamrock, your open hearts are next and then place your swirls to form a stem. Then cut 4 solid hearts out at 1 1/2" and place them over the top of the shamrock. I secured a gem that I had for the center of my shamrock and placed a few tiny shamrocks on the front of the card, as I felt it needed something else. I then secured this layer to the base and I was done.
We are waiting to see how much snow we are going to get from this latest storm that is marching our way! The girls of course of hoping for no school tomorrow, but I am hoping for SPRING!!! Have a great week and stay safe!
