Well, we are off to another start of a hot week! We have been hibernating inside all weekend due to the weather, and I got some time to make some birthday cards. I used my Botanical Blooms die again - I just love that set.
Here is the inside of the card. I used my copper embossing here as well.
I also used my Wink of Stella again for the petals and love how it makes them stand out!
Recipe:
Stamps - Butterfly Basics
Paper - Whisper White, Brushed Gold, Rich Razzleberry, Lovely Lilac, Blackberry Bliss,
Daffodil Delight, Old Olive
Ink - Copper Embossing Powder
Embellishments - Pearls, Wink of Stella
Accessories - Botanical Blooms Die
I think this card would be so nice in any array of colors. I had ordered the new copper embossing powder and wanted to try it out and love how it looks! Well, at least I have a few birthday cards in my stash. It seems like I have a lot of birthdays in the summer and always run out of cards. Hope wherever you are you stay cool. I try not to complain as I know what is coming this winter. Have a great week!

50th Birthday Card
Well, it was a busy weekend! We celebrated my daughter's 50th birthday on Saturday - oh my, where does the time go! We had a great time., Then on Sunday family and friends got together for a picnic.
Here's a family picture of us on Saturday.
I made her a card of balloons! I love the balloon punch!
Recipe:
Stamps - Party Pants, Spellbinder HB Stamp, # of Years
Paper - Black, Whisper White, Shimmery Black and Silver
Accessories - Balloon Punch, Embossing Folder, Black SU Marker, # of Years Dies
I layered my card after I embossed it on Whisper white. I then punched out my balloons and popped them up with dimensionals and drew balloon ties on with my marker. I stamper my sentiment on some Whisper White and cut it out by hand - and then I realized that there was a die for the banner! But I thought it turned out pretty good so I didn't redo it! Next time will be easier!
This is the inside of the card. I stamped the sentiment and die cut the numbers. I really liked how it turned out.
Since I was handing it to her I stamped some extra goodies on the envelope. Here is a picture Sarah took of Jennifer and her Mom at the picnic Sunday using those funny filters on her phone. She loved it!
To start off the week, Joe had his cataract surgery yesterday and so far so good! He went back for a recheck this AM and all is well. No lifting or bending, but he can drive again so he is happy! Hope all is well with everyone and the week is going well for you!

Flower Shop Birthday Card
As you know, I have been working on making some birthday cards. The next card I made was using one of my favorite stamp sets - SU Flower Shop. I had not used this one individual stamp and saw this card and decided to CASE it with a few minor changes.
Recipe :
Stamps - Flower Shop, Cute & Curly
Ink - Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz
Paper - Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Whisper White
Embellishments - Ribbon, Pearls
Accessories - Cute & Curly punch, Dimensionals
I made my base card in Daffodil Delight CS. Using the different colors, I stamped on the Whisper White layer. I colored my ribbon and adhered it on the layer and popped up my greeting with dimensionals. This is an old stamp set with matching punch that I have used so many times. One of the greetings just says "Thank You" in the corner and when punched out it makes a great tag! I used some pearls for the center of some of the flowers.
I decided to decorate the inside of the card with some some of the stamped flowers. I used my go to birthday stamp that I found at Michael's years ago in the $1 bin. I also stamped the envelopes.
I really liked how the cards turned out. Something a little different than I usually make. Its been pretty hot here lately with lots of storms. We even had a small tornado a few towns over which is rare for us. We have a pretty busy weekend planned. My daughter turns 50 and we are celebrating. Boy - where did that time go! Hope you have a wonderful whatever your plans are.

Botanical Blooms Birthday Card
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. Everyone is trying to get back to normal after a long weekend off. I realized that I have a lot of birthdays coming up and my stash was getting empty. I saw a few cute cards on Pinterest that I decided to make. This first one was using one of my favorite Su stamp sets - Botanical Blooms. I love this set!
Recipe:
Stamps - Botanical Gardens, Perfect Pairing
Ink - Watermelon Wonder, Old Olive
Paper - Watermelon Wonder, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Accessories - Botanical Garden Framelits, Punches, Basket Weave Embossing Folder
Embellishments - Ribbon, Wink of Stella - clear
I think this card would look so neat using any other color as well. What I did was stamp first on my layer and then run it through the embossing folder. It gave such a great affect. I didn't have any Watermelon Wonder ribbon so I colored my white ribbon with the ink.
For one of my cards, I stamped my birthday greeting inside. I left the other blank as I think you could use it for other occasions with the "thinking of you" on the front.
I used the Wink of Stella on the flower petals and I really liked how they turned out. Hope you enjoy this card as much as I do.
