Father's Day Card

I am trying to be proactive - LOL - so I started making some Father's Day cards.  My to-do list is getting longer and life gets in the way of my crafting!  So before the day is upon us, I decided to at least start making some cards.  This card was so quick and easy to put together.  As you know, I have been trying to use us some of my DSP, so I was looking for something to use on a Dad's card and came across this lone sheet of paper which fit the bill.  I think it was one of SU's older DSP.

For my base card, I used one of my favorite SU colors - More Mustard.  Before it retired, I actually purchased several packs and am now on my last one!  I love their old colors.  The first layer is also a single sheet of paper from my scrap bin.  The sentiment I used is from SU's stamp set Botanicals for You.  I also found this little box full of buttons which I used along with some twine.  I used to use buttons on all my cards!  More goodies to use up!!

For my inside sentiment, I used my old $1 stamp from Michael's and a scrap of paper from the DSP.  I don't much masculine papers or stamps, but I do like how this card turned out.  One down - two more to go!!  The sun finally came out today so we are going to be able to barbecue after all.

Post Cards

I am so excited to share this post with you!  I remember when traveling around with my parents when I was a kid, the first thing we would do is look for a postcard where we were staying and send it back home or to our relatives.  I used to have such a collection of postcards and would take them out and remember all the good times we had at a particular place.  I guess they still have them, but I haven't sent any in years!  I came across this cute VIDEO that Jennifer McGuire made and I had to make some.

Jennifer had just brought home some school work and a project she had made with all A's, so I thought this one would be just the ticket for her.  I usually try and send her a card on the weekends we don't see her, so I will save the little mouse for the future.

These stamp sets are from the Colorado Craft Co.  I just fell in love with them!

For the mouse, I did some blending!  Isn't he cute!!

Her free download worked out great!  I am definitely going to make a bunch of these to have on hand.  They came together very quick and are a nice change of pace instead of a card!  I think these would be great to use as an invitation.

Joe and I picked up the finished ceramic pieces after they were fired.  I think they turned out pretty good!

Margaret made the angel, Jeannie made the Gnome for their Fairy garden, Rachel made the elephant, Jennifer made the cute dolphin and I made the candle holder that I wanted to hold  my different brushes for my craft room.  I think we will definitely try this again as we had so much fun!

Treasure Heart Gift Box

I hope everyone is having a great week!  The weather here in PA has been so nice and the weekend looks like it is going to be nice as well!  I wanted to make something to put some goodies in for my daughter's along with the cards that I had made them for Mother's Day.  I decided to make this cute little box from a die called Treasured Heart Gift Box from Heartfelt Creations.  The little flaps open up on the top.

I made the butterfly one for my daughter Jeannie as she loves butterflies.  I used the larger flower from the Cherry Blossoms Collection from Heartfelt Creations using Pretty and Pink ink.

This next one I made for my daughter Margaret using the same flower but making it in Real Red.

I loved how they turned out.  I am definitely going to be making more of them.  Heartfelt Creations just released their new collection for this month - Butterflies!!  I can hardly wait till I get mine!  I can see lots of butterflies in my future!

Here is a picture of Rachel and Margaret at the ceramic place on Mother's Day.  Unfortunately, Sarah had to work.

Here is a picture of the crew.  We had such a good time.  We had to leave our items to be fired.  I can hardly wait to see how they turned out.  We had breakfast first and it was nice to be out and about.  It looks like masks might be a thing of the past.  Let's hope so!!

Mother's Day Cards

I decided to use one of my favorite dies from Heartfelt Creations - the 5x7  Decorative Frames - to make some Mother's Day cards.  I simply love how these dies fit so great together to make a card.

It was hard to fit them all in one picture.  I decided to make them in different colors and use the Heartfelt Creations Cherry Blossom Collection for my flowers.

This one I made in Old Olive.

The next one I made in Pretty and Pink.

This was my favorite one that I made in Highland Heather.

The last one I made in Melon Mambo.

For my inside, I used an oval scallop to write on.  It's hard to see but I put some glitter on the flowers.  The weather is very cold here with rain scheduled off and on for the next few days.  All the girls are meeting for breakfast tomorrow.  I would rather go out for breakfast than dinner so I'm a happy camper.  Since we all like to do ceramics we are then going to a local place to have some fun!  I hope everyone has a great weekend celebrating with family and friends!

Black Magic Birthday Card

As I mentioned, I had several birthday cards to make.  It seems like they always come as a group.  This card was made for my daughter.  I saw this cool technique over at Gina K's facebook live and decided to try it.  I guess it has been around for awhile but I never saw it.  I didn't have any waxed pencils so I got a small pack on Amazon.  After I got my pencils, my next problem was finding a stamp I could use.  You have to use a rubber stamp where the image is completely covered with the rubber so when it is stamped with your white pigment ink the colors will show up nice and bright.  It took me awhile, but I finally found a stamp that I had purchased from our local stamp show from Local King Rubber called Springtime.  One guess - it is pansies!!

I really enjoyed making this card and I loved this technique!  I used my primacolor pencils and cut down the black CS to fit inside a piece of Smokey Grey CS which I cut out with my Stitched Scallop Rectangle dies from Pink Fresh. I decided on this CS because I colored my saucer grey.  I then mounted it on Gorgeous Grape CS.  It took me awhile to decide about the greeting.  I couldn't find anything I liked until I pulled out my peel offs and came across this birthday greeting.  I thought the different color inks matched perfectly with the card.

For my inside, I used the negative piece of the die!  I thought it worked out really neat!  My sentiment was from Gina K's Wreath Building Stamp set and the flower was from my peel offs.  I will definitely do this technique again!  I don't color very well, so this was right up my alley!

We had such a nice dinner with Rachel last night to celebrate her birthday.  Jeannie and Jennifer went down to Lancaster this weekend so we have a house guest - Daisy!  Have a great weekend!
