Father's Day Card

We hope that all the father's out there had a great day yesterday celebrating with their families and friends.  Everyone came here yesterday, and we had a nice time.  I was able to get in my craft room and make a quick and simple card for Joe.

I used SU's One Wild Ride stamp set for the sentiment.  I have so many 6" x 6" pad DSP and found this one for the card.  Little by little I'm trying to clean out my craft room.  I have two bags of stamps that I plan on taking to the Goodwill.  My ribbons are next.  I have had so many given to me that I will never use them all, so I am going to share the goodies!

I used my old Father's Day stamp from Michael's for the inside along with a scrap of the DSP.  Better than throwing it away!  Joe loved it.

Joe's Father's Day Card

Here is the card that I made for Joe for Father's Day.  I saw several like this made with the silver paper in Pinterest and liked how they looked so I decided to try it out!

I used white for the card base, basic black for the first layer and the silver CS for the next layer. Then I used the large circle embossing folder on the silver CS.  I love how the back ground turned out.  I used SU's Botanicals For You stamp set and cut it out with Spellbinders Oval Die and added some black and silver gems and some twine from my stash.

For my sentiment, I used the same stamp set and my Father's Day stamp from Stampabilities.  Everyone came over on Saturday to celebrate due to their schedules.  I did not have it finished in time, but after all Father's Day is next Sunday, so I have time!  LOL!!  I was happy how it turned out!

Mother's Day Cards

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday.  We were blessed with a beautiful day.  We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather.  Everyone was here and it was so much fun watching Jennifer and Juan play in the yard.

I managed to put together some cards using Gina K's Wreath Stencil.  I tried to find a small pansy in my stash to use but ended up using one of the flower stamps from SU's Tea Together set.

Sorry for the blurry picture.  My camera was not cooperating.

Here is a better closeup picture.  I used CS in their favorite color and layered them in Basic Black.  The sentiment was from the Tea Together set and I decided to used tiny gold gems for the center of the flowers.

For the inside sentiment, I used another great stamp from that same collection.  This month is moving right along.  I always judge the time by what cards I am making.  I have already moved on to making Father's Day cards.

Father's Day Card

Well, here is the last Father's Day card that I had to make.  I was happy to be able to use some older SU stamps.

The base card was made in black CS with the first layer in Whisper White using Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Rectangle & Basics Dies.  I used SU's stamp set Gorgeous Grunge to stamp my dots by stamping off once so the ink is not so dark.  The striped DSP was punched out with a SU punch.  For my sentiment, I used  my $1 stamp from Michael's and cut it out with Spellbinder's Circle Dies.  In my button box, I found a black one and tied some twine around it and used some glitter dots to finish it off.

My inside was just decorated with the left over DSP again.  It came together pretty quick which was good!  I have to now work on  a Congrats card for Jennifer as her school is ending tomorrow.

Father's Day Card

I am still working on making cards for Father's Day.  I was looking through Pinterest and saw this card and thought it was pretty neat.   I liked how they used the DSP in different directions.

The card base is  a 5" x 5" using Whisper White and the first layer is in Tempting Turquoise.  The second layer of DSP is 1/4" smaller and then I angled the DSP for the third layer.  For my sentiment, I used an old Michael's $1 stamp and embossed it in Black Detail die cutting it with Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Circle Basic small and Large.  I outlined it with some Tempting Turquoise CS turning the DSP on the side.  I think it made  a neat design.

For my inside sentiment, I used the Amazing You stamp set again from SU on a scrap of DSP I had left over.  Well, two cards down and one more to go.  It's amazing how quickly these holidays come and go!

Father's Day Card

Well, it seems like we are slipping into the month of June and with that comes Father's Day.  The first card I made is pretty forthcoming.

The base card is made with SU's CS Tempting Turquois.  I always loved this color and thought it was perfect for this card.  On my first layer of Whisper white, I used the stamp set Sunshine Sayings from SU to stamp some swatches of the ink.  Then I used a punch for the DSP and SU's Happy Birthday Die.  The sentiment came from SU's Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  I found some tiny gems in the same color to finish it off.

For my inside sentiment, I used the same technique and the stamp set Amazing You from SU.  I really liked how this technique turned out. When Jennifer and Daisy were away for the holiday look what they found!!

Of course they had to go and investigate!

Nothing like ice cream on a hot day at the beach!

And of course they had to take a goodie home!

When they got home, look what they found had bloomed while they were gone!  My daughter has great luck with her  flowers.  I love this purple rose.

Father's Day Card

Here is my last card I made for Father's Day.  It is for Joe!  This stamp set is from SU called Ride With Me!  I fell in love with this set.  When we first got married we had a gas station, and he purchased this old red truck to use.  You could see it coming a mile away!  He loved it!  He used it for everything and we so enjoyed having it.  I remember having to get a boost up later on when I got pregnant with Margaret.  I really thought I would have her in the truck the way it bounced all over the place!  I can still see him pulling up to the house and the kids running up to him begging to go for a ride!  Big Red was with us for many years!

I used Heartfelt Creations CS for the base card.  I did some blending first on an oval and then colored and fussy cut the truck out and popped it up for some dimension.  I just love this sentiment that is in the stamp set.  I used my Spellbinders oval dies to die cut on Real Red CS an oval frame and added some enamel hearts.

For the inside sentiment, I used my $1 Michael's stamp and some more enamel hearts!  I just loved how this card turned out.  I'm really enjoying  using my blending brushes.  We hope everyone will have a great weekend celebrating with their families and friend.

Father's Day Card

I was able to get another card made for Father's Day.  Believe me when I say it was not easy!  Life is definitely getting in the way of my crafting time!  For this card, I used SU's Basic Black for my base card and Smokey Slate for my first layer.  For my next layer I used Silver foil and embossed it with my dynamic texture embossing folder Layered Leaves.  I love how these folders make the foil look!

I then used SU's One Wild Ride stamp set for the motorcycle and sentiment.  I fussy cut it out and mounted it on 2 pieces of black paper to make it more secure and popped it up with dimensionals.  I also added SU's Glittered Organdy ribbon that I thought matched pretty good.

For my inside sentiment, I used my $1 Michael's stamp again and decorated with a piece of ribbon.  I have used this stamp set so many times on so many occasions.  The guys really seem to like it!  I have one more to make and an anniversary card.  If it rains, I may get them done!  LOL!

Father's Day Card

I am trying to be proactive - LOL - so I started making some Father's Day cards.  My to-do list is getting longer and life gets in the way of my crafting!  So before the day is upon us, I decided to at least start making some cards.  This card was so quick and easy to put together.  As you know, I have been trying to use us some of my DSP, so I was looking for something to use on a Dad's card and came across this lone sheet of paper which fit the bill.  I think it was one of SU's older DSP.

For my base card, I used one of my favorite SU colors - More Mustard.  Before it retired, I actually purchased several packs and am now on my last one!  I love their old colors.  The first layer is also a single sheet of paper from my scrap bin.  The sentiment I used is from SU's stamp set Botanicals for You.  I also found this little box full of buttons which I used along with some twine.  I used to use buttons on all my cards!  More goodies to use up!!

For my inside sentiment, I used my old $1 stamp from Michael's and a scrap of paper from the DSP.  I don't much masculine papers or stamps, but I do like how this card turned out.  One down - two more to go!!  The sun finally came out today so we are going to be able to barbecue after all.

Father's Day Card

I'm trying to get the rest of my Father's Day cards made.  My son-in-law loves his motorcycle so I decided to use SU's stamp set - One wild Ride.  I've made a few cards in the past with this set and decided to use it for his card.

I cut a piece of Smokey Grey CS 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  I cut my Basic Black CS 10" x 3 3/4" and scored it at 5" and adhered it on the Grey CS.  My layer of Whisper White measures 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".  I then embossed a piece of silver foil measuring 3 1/4" x 4 1/2 and adhered it on the layer.

I fussy cut the motocycle and used some 3-D Lacquer and added some glitter and popped it up with some dimensionals.  Because of the foil I had a hard time taking a picture of it.  I used one of the sentiments in the set and tied on some black ribbon.

I used my Michael's stamp again for the inside sentiment and some left-over stars from my previous card.  Another quick and easy card, but I liked how it turned out.  I always struggle with cards for the guys.  But I know he will like it because of the motorcyle.

It has been really hot and humid here for a couple days.  Here is how Jennifer is cooling off!

All the pools are still closed, but I think she is having more fun in the creek!  She was amazed seeing the little "fishes" she saw swimming around!  Her last day of school is tomorrow, so I am hoping for some sleep-overs!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Hershey's Kisses Cars

Hard to believe that Father's Day is tomorrow.  Boy did that sneak up on me.  I had started to make these cute little Hershey's kisses cars before we left on vacation and finally finished them.  Brenda Qunitana made this - TUTORIAL - for them and I knew when I saw it I would have to make them for Father's Day.  Unfortunately, with everything going on I didn't get to make as many as I wanted for the Wellness Center but saved some for the family.

Brenda always does a great job with her tutorials.  I love them all.

These would be great for a lot of occasions.

Joe was watching me put them together and loved how the headlights, tail lights and especially the wheels came together.

Sorry, I didn't get them posted earlier, but they would be great for birthdays as well.  We hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day weekend!  Our weather is great so I'm anxious to be outside for most of it.

Father's Day Card & Trip

As you know, I have been MIA.  The past several months have wore us down so Joe and I decided to run away for some down time and took my daughter Jeannie and Jennifer with us.  We went to Virginia beach for a week.  I had not been there since I was a kid and we had a wonderful time.  It was so good to see the ocean again.  Being a Jersey kid, I grew up spending most of my summers at the Jersey shore and have missed not going.  With my MS its not that easy to get close to the beach and water but the boardwalk was cement with a lot of  walkways.  The hotel messed up our reservations and compensated us with the penthouse on the 18th floor.!! Here is a picture of our first sunset.

The next morning we woke up to this!

Everything was so accessible.  We had breakfast every morning on the walkway looking at the ocean and then would walk a while.  Jennifer loved the sculptures we would pass.  You can see how big it is compared to her.

I loved this large shell as well.

One afternoon Jeannie and Jennifer rented a bike to drive on the boardwalk.

We spent one whole day at the Virgina Aquarium and had a great time.  Jennifer loved the turtles.

She couldn't get enough of watching the fish.

Part of the day was spent on a Dolphin Boat ride.  I can't say enough about the how great the people were.  I didn't think I would be able to get on the boat with my scooter.  They actually have wheelchairs that I could change into and they wheeled me up the ramp and gave us a great place to see everything.  We saw a lot of dolphins!!

I can't remember the last time I was on a boat.  It was just great!

So, we are home and trying to settle back into our normal routine.  I can't believe all the paperwork involved when someone dies.  My desk is full.

But I realized that Father's Day will be here before I know it, so I finally got back to my craft room to make some cards.  This first card is made with SU's One Wild Ride.  I used Basic Black for the base card and Real Red for the first layer.

My next layer in Crumb Cake - 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" I used my Versa Mark and stamped the background.  I then stamped my image and mounted it on a Basic Black layer of 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and tied some twine around the two layers and popped it up on my base card.  I stamped the Life's a Journey stamp in Real Red on Whisper White and cut it up and glued the bottom half on and popped up the top part.

For my inside sentiment, I used another stamp from the set and a stamp from my stash from Michael's $ bin.  This card came together pretty quick, which was good as I don't have too much time in my craft room these days.  I had started working on some goodies for the Wellness Center and they are sitting on my desk waiting to be finished.  I may have to ask Sarah to come up this weekend and help me finish them.  Today was the last day of school so she is a happy camper!  Have a great weekend and hope to see you again soon.

One Wild Ride Father's Day Card

I had one more Father's Day card to finish up which I did this weekend!  Yay!!  My other projects for the men in the family are almost finished as well, and I have a few days to spare!  This must be a record for me.  This was the first time I used SU's stamp set One Wild Ride and I really liked how it turned out.  This is not my typical card, but he loves to ride his motorcycle so I thought I would try out something different  The picture is hard to see as the base is black CS.  For my layer I used a piece of back and white polka dot DSP paper.

I used Real Red CS for my panel and stamped on Whisper White.  I decided to use the eclipse method to make the letters pop a bit.  I love using the Large Letter Dies and hope to start doing some scrapbooking again with these dies.  I felt like the panel needed something else and decided on these little gems I had in my stash.

For my inside sentiment, I used my $1 stamp again that I got at Michael's.  I have had a lot of use out of this stamp over the years.  Well, it is too nice to sit inside anymore.  I'm going to take advantage of the breezes and sit on the porch.  See you again at the end of the week!

Father's Day Card

Well, I finally got back to the craft room to finish Joe's Father's Day card.  First I had to remember where I hid it!  LOL!!  It was a pretty simple card to make, but I liked it and I think he will too!

I used Crumb Cake CS for my base and then my first layer was a scrap of DSP.  I made some banners of different colors also with some scrap paper.  I have definitely made a dent in my scrap pile!  My sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  I have been using this a lot lately.  I colored some dots around my oval that I cut out with my die and then used my large and small star punches and put a small brad in the middle.

For the inside sentiment, I used the same $1 stamp from Michael's and added some stars on the bottom.  As I said, it was pretty simple but I liked it.  I have one more card to make plus I am working on a project for the men in the family.  All the schools are closing so summer begins!

Nancy

I have submitted this card to CardzTV Anthing Goes Challenge #51.

Father's Day Card

I have been trying to do some challenges lately, so I made this card for one that required that you use 3 different washi tapes.  The only problem is that I missed the deadline!!  Oh well, at least I have started on making some Father's Day cards.  These cards were so easy to make.  I used SU's Crumb Cake for my base card and Calypso Coral for my next layer.  For my 3rd layer, I used Whisper White and just angled the different color washi tapes on the bottom.

I used my large letter dies to cut the letters DAD and adhered on some flowers I had with a little heart for the center.

For my sentiment, I used an old $1 Michael's stamp and added some washi tape on the bottom.

The hardest thing about these cards were picking out the colors to use!!  I guess the weather can't make up it mind.  One day I have the air on and then the next the heat!!  But at least our vegetable garden is going along!    I'll be back later in the week with some more cards.  Have a great week!

Father's Day Treat Box

Well, this week went fast!  The girls are out of school and I thought things would slow down, but NO!!  The carnival is in town, the pool is open and everyone wants to go everywhere and it is very HOT!!!  I was going to post this AM but then my daughter and Jennifer stopped by for a visit, so of course everything stops and then Sarah started throwing up so it was one of those days!  As promised, here is the Treat Box that I made to go with the Father's Day card I posted last week.

I saw this adorable VIDEO on Stamping to Share using my favorite SU stamp set Bear Hugs!  I am so glad I purchased this set.  I have used it so much for many different occasions.  I didn't have the Baker's Box Thinlet she used but remember the VIDEO Pootles Papercraft did making a milk carton.  So, I put the two together and put my own twist on it and I loved how it turned out!

Since it was a larger box, I used the larger bear stamping it in Early Espresso.  For my grunge colors, I used Early Espresso and Soft Sky.  I had some ribbon in my drawer that matched my fish, so I decorated the box with that.

I thought the fish was so cute on the clothespin.  For the sentiment, I used the Tea Shoppe set and the matching punch.

Here is the card and the box together.  I filled the box with some Swedish Fish, and we are ready to bag them up for Father's Day. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
