Easter Cards

Nothing like the last minute to put together some Easter cards!  I had purchased this cute little rabbit stamp from SU  (Happy Easter Bunny) and had actually colored a bunch up but still had to put them together.

Here are three that I haven't mailed out yet.  I decided to make them all the same style except for using different colored CS.  I tried to match the CS with the color I had made the bow.  Having raised a bunch of rabbits in our time,  I decided to also make them different colors as well.  I just used my SU ink markers.

I then used my oval spellbinders to cut them out and popped them up with dimensionals on the colored CS that I had embossed with one of my folders.  They are pretty clean and simple, but I got a lot made in a hurry and didn't need any extra stamps to mail them which is always a good thing.

Believe it or not we woke up to more snow this AM, but most of it has already disappeared - thank goodness!!  It is going to be a busy week!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!

Well, today is Sarah's 13th birthday!  I wanted to make a special card for her and of course it had to be in her favorite color - PINK!  She was so happy that her birthday fell on a Wed. this year, as all the girls dress in PINK on Weds. at school.  I had been debating on purchasing the small bow punch from SU, as I have the large bow die cut which I love.  I finally broke down and purchased it and I'm so glad I did.  I saw a lot of cards with bows on them and knew I wanted to make one for her special day.

I used SU's Whisper White CS for the base, and for my first layer I used some DSP I had and made it 1/8" smaller in size.  My next layer was in Whisper White 1/8" smaller and I adhered my 3 bows I had made using my punch.  My sentiment was $1 stamp from Michael's which I love.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside and it is already sealed.  I put a birthday sentiment and decorated the inside with some small hearts punched out with the same DSP paper.

Rachel surprised her with a lovely bouquet of flowers last night as an early birthday present.  I just finished baking her a chocolate cake with pink icing and it is all ready for us to devour tonight.  She and her friends are going roller skating on Saturday and then she is having a sleepover.  I'm glad it is rain coming and not snow!

Sarah - we hope you have a wonderful birthday (even though you have to go to school)!  It is so hard to believe that you are going to become a teenager!

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

Birthday Card

I had a birthday card to make and decided to use a new stamp set I had purchase along with its dies.  I saw this card on Pinterest but changed the colors.

I used SU's stamp set Butterfly Basics with the coordinating thinlets.  I used Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder CS for my colors.  This is the first time I have used these thinlets and really like how they turned out.  You are suppose to use wax paper and a dryer towel in your sandwich with the big shot, but my wax paper seems to be among the missing, but just the dryer towel worked out fine.  I was kinda of torn between coloring the flowers or leaving them plain, which I did.  I also decided to dress up the butterfly with some rhinestones.  The set has a very large butterfly thinlet which I can hardly wait to try.

Well, we can't believe it but we are suppose to get snow on Friday and we still have some snow left on the ground!!  The worst part is that Friday is suppose to be the first day of Spring!  I have my eye out for my spring flowers, but nothing yet.  Have a great weekend!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!

Well, does everyone has their corn beef and cabbage ready?  We're all going to Jennifer's house on Sunday to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!  I wanted to finish up my goodies for the Wellness Center today so my daughter can take them on Monday.  I saw these cuties on Pinterest and saved them knowing I would want to make some.

They came together pretty fast.  I used my two different SU tag punches and adhered a shamrock on each one that my friend Denise had punched out for me with her shamrock punch - thank you!

Then I filled my cello bags with some green M&M's.  I punched a small hole in the bag and the tag and tied my tag on with 1/8" ribbon and I was done.  All in all I made 30 treats.  The only thing that slowed me down was tying the ribbons.  I guess as one gets older the eyes go and one gets all thumbs.  The girls offered to help but they were eating too many M&M's, so I was on my own!  In case you are interested, I ordered the green M&M's on Amazon.  I didn't realize how many ways you can order these great candies.

We're going to try and melt some green chocolate this weekend and decorate some pretzel sticks and send some of those along as also.  Well, our weather has warmed up and the snow is finally melting and I can see some of my lawn again.  With Easter early this year, I hope the weather stays warm or we will be looking for our eggs in the snow!

I have entered this post on Cardztv Challenge - Create a Treat Box or Bag.

Everyone in the Pansy Patch wishes you all a Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

St. Patrick's Day Card

I thought I had better start making some cards to send for St. Patrick's Day.  Before you know it the day will be here.  I have been working on some treats for the Wellness Center, which I will share next week.  This is another simple card to make which fits into my schedule.  Way too many things to do which is why I loved the video I posted yesterday.

I used SU Whisper White CS and some DSP I had on hand.  I used my polka dot embossing folder on my layer which I punched out with my blossom punch and then popped it up with some dimensionals.  I threaded some twine in my button and then used my glue dots to secure it in the middle of my flower.  I cut out my banner and used SU's Teeny Tiny Wishes for the sentiment.

For the sentiment inside my card, I used a stamp from Inkadinkadoo,  I just love this Irish blessing!  I decided to sponge Old Olive ink to the layer so it would stand out.

Hopefully, I'll get a few more done!  The girls had off again today and have a delayed opening tomorrow.  Hopefully, this will be the last of the snow, as the weather forecast for next week is calling for the 40's & 50's - yeah!!!!!

Pinterest Parody - Shake it Off Video

My friend Denise sent this to me this morning and it made my day!  I thought for those of you who haven't seen it yet I would post it!  Every time I think of this VIDEO it makes me laugh!!

The girls are off from school today due to bad weather, so I turned up the volume to wake them up and have some fun with them!  They came running out - mission accomplished!!

Have a great day!

Congratulations Card

Before going to my son-in-law's birthday party Sat. I quick made this cute card for his son who has been on the high honor role in school.

It was a quick card but just what I needed.  I used brilliant blue and whisper white CS and brilliant blue ink with some scraps of ribbon I had laying around.  The sentiment was from one of the paper pumpkins, and I used my small star punch popping the stars up and decorating them with some rhinestones.  I remember when I got this particular paper pumpkin kit,  I thought I would probably never used these stamps, but I have to say I have used these 2 a lot.  I put in some $$ and everyone was happy!

We had a great time Sat. celebrating John's birthday and watching Jennifer show off her walking skills.  Then we got some more snow yesterday and everyone had a 2 hour delayed opening today which no one minded.  I personally have had enough of winter, snow and cold weather!!  I need the snow to melt and see my spring flowers!
