Graduation Card

It's hard to believe but Jennifer graduated from 6th Grade.  They had a very nice ceremony for the class.  She will be going into the Middle School in September!!  Oh boy!!

For her card, I used some Brushed Silver CS I had left from SU with some lavender DSP I had in my stash with some pretty stars on it.  I punched some additional stars from silver foil to match the paper and my sentiment as well.

My inside sentiment is from Gina K's stamps and added some more stars!  It came together pretty quick which was good as I was running out of time.

Here she is on stage.  She got an award for getting Honors all year.  It was a nice evening and fortunately it was inside as the weather here has been so terribly hot!  We hope everyone has a wonderful 4thof July!

Congratulations Card for Jennifer

Straightening up my craft room I realized that I had not posted the card I made for Jennifer for getting on the High Honor Roll.  I decided to make a slimline card to use SU's stamp and die set Playing in the Rain.  This is such an adorable set which I have used before.

I used SU's basic white CS for my base layer and some DSP for the second layer.  I think three rabbits are so darn cute, and I used some small wobbles on them so they would wiggle around!  The sentiment is from Gina K's stamp set So Many Sentiments.

For the inside sentiment, I used an old SU stamp set Amazing Congratulations.  This set has 3 stamps that you use with different colors that fit into the outline stamp.  I have used these stamps before with no problem but this time two stamps for the inside would not stamp.  It was obvious that the stamps had deteriorated.  Unfortunately, I am finding that some of my older SU stamps are not surviving very well.  So I ended stamping the outline and then with different colors filling in the inside.  I think it turned out OK.

Everyone was here over the 4th of July to help celebrate my birthday.  Even though it was unbearably hot it was fun.  I had a DQ cake with peanut butter filling - my favorite!!

The kids had fun outside in the evening to set off some fireworks that Aunt Rachel supplied.  Here is Jennifer and Juan investigating.  They enjoy each other so much.  It is hard to believe he will be three years old in Sept.

I hope everyone is keeping cool during this warm spell.  Joe is excited that he is seeing tomatoes in the garden.

Congratulations Card for Jennifer

Jennifer has done so well in school again this year, so I decided to make a card for her and send with some $$$ for getting on the Honor Roll again

Looking through my stash. I found some Gold Glimmer CS from SU which I used for my base card.  I used the Fireworks Stencil from Hedgehog Hollow with my Encore Gold Ink from SU.  I decided to use SU's Botanicals for You in black and wondered if I should have stamped it first but decided to go with it and stamped over the gold.  It's hard to see but the gold ink actually came through the black ink and looks pretty neat.  I then put some star gems on the fireworks.

For my inside sentiment, I used the same SU stamp set and stenciled a smaller fireworks in the corner.  I really liked how this turned out and of course Jennifer liked what was included inside!! LOL!

Congratulations Cards

I hope everyone had a great weekend celebrating St. Patrick's Day!  It's hard to believe that we are already into Tuesday of a new week.  Over the weekend, I had Joe bring down from the attic all my Easter goodies.  Instead of putting them out, I decided to play in my craft room and make some congratulations cards that I needed.  I decided to put some ink on the SU stamp Amazing Congratulations.  It is a 2 step stamp set which gives you the look of multi colored.  This is the first time I tried this, and I think I would have had better luck if I had reinked my inks before starting this project.  I used my stamparatus for this which helped a great deal and I was happy with the end result.

For my base card, I used Whisper White CS with Crushed Curry for my first layer and my next layer from It's My Party DSP.    For my inks, I used Momento Black, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight.

I stamped my sentiment on a piece of Whisper White 2"x 4 7/8" and mounted it on a piece of Melon Mambo 2 1/4" x 5 1/8".  I added some stars and hearts to dress it up a bit.

I had some left over DSP, so I added that to my inside CS which I left blank so I can write on it.  I even decided to decorate the envelop flap.

I am going to hand deliver this to my Granddaughter Sarah for an excellent report card, so I didn't worry about sending it through the mail.  The weather is warming up here and the yard is full of robins looking for some worms!!  Spring has sprung - hopefully!

Congratulations Card

Before going to my son-in-law's birthday party Sat. I quick made this cute card for his son who has been on the high honor role in school.

It was a quick card but just what I needed.  I used brilliant blue and whisper white CS and brilliant blue ink with some scraps of ribbon I had laying around.  The sentiment was from one of the paper pumpkins, and I used my small star punch popping the stars up and decorating them with some rhinestones.  I remember when I got this particular paper pumpkin kit,  I thought I would probably never used these stamps, but I have to say I have used these 2 a lot.  I put in some $$ and everyone was happy!

We had a great time Sat. celebrating John's birthday and watching Jennifer show off her walking skills.  Then we got some more snow yesterday and everyone had a 2 hour delayed opening today which no one minded.  I personally have had enough of winter, snow and cold weather!!  I need the snow to melt and see my spring flowers!
