Ladybug Card

Have you ever just fell in love with a card and immediately decided you have to have the stamp set to make it?  I usually don't buy craft items just to make one card.  I like to be able to use the stamp set for different ideas - to spread the wealth if you know what I mean!  Even though I purchased this stamp set to make this card, I'm sure my impulse buying will pay off in the future!

Isn't this card just adorable??  I sent this card to one of my dear friends just to let her know I was thinking about her.  The stamp set is called Under My Umbrella with matching punch from SU.  Of course, when I went to buy it from my demonstrator I found out it had been discontinued  and was no longer in the new catalog - that figures!  So I headed out to Ebay and was able to get it on their website!  On a previous card I made, the same thing happened when I was looking for the stamp set Happiest of Birthdays which I ended up finding on Etsy.  Why do they eliminate the good stamps?  I also used SU's stamp set and punch called Little Ladybug on the card as well.  I used a very light ink shade of gray for my raindrops.  Aren't they so cute??  I also used my Wink of Stella on the umbrella and ladybugs.

Here is a picture of the inside.  I just love using the little ladybugs!  I hope you like this card as much as I do.

Joe's Birthday Card and Candy Gift Box

Well, it was my husband's birthday last weekend so we started the week off with everyone going to see the Minion movie and then out for a late lunch//early dinner.  We haven't been to the movies in years, but he loves anything Minion and when asked what he wanted to do he surprised us all by saying he wanted to go to the movies to see the new Minion movie!  We had a great time!

I managed to finish his card off just under the wire.  Fortunately, it came together quickly.  I used SU's Happy Birthday Thinlet Die and cut it out in Gold Luxe CS.  It cuts in one piece, so I just cut it apart so I could separate it on the front of the card.

I just cut some different size strips of DSP and placed them over each other joining them in the middle.  Using SU's star die, I cut one out using the Gold Luxe CS again and popped it up in the middle of the strips.  I finished it off by adhering some black and gold gems.

For the inside of the card, I just used some more of the DSP strips that I had cut for the front of the card.  A while ago, I saw a - video from Brenda Quintana - where she made a box and lid and filled it with some Hershey nuggets.  I thought this was such a great idea!  I love her creations and this was so popular that she put together several different sizes for different occasions using SU's Alphabet Bundle Set.

Here is the one that I made for Joe.  It's a great way to use up scraps of CS and DSP. I loved how it turned out and plan on making some more for upcoming occasions.  Since it has been so hot here, we spent the actual day inside with everyone.  I do like the warmer weather, but this summer has been way too hot for us.  It will be nice to enjoy some cooler weather.

New House Card

Awhile ago, I saw Jennifer McGuire showcase this cute card.  I decided to purchase it along with the add on as I thought it would make great Christmas cards along with other different occasions.  Recently, my daughter and her family moved to another house and I thought I would try out the set - Bird House - by Scrappy Tails.

I used craft CS and embossed the front and back panels with the Simple Stripes folder.  I mounted the word HOME instead of making little bird holes and popped them up.  The add on set has so many additions which I plan on using with other cards.

Here is the little cardinal I made with the Feather Friends 3 Die set from Paper Trey Ink.  I love how it turned out.  I forgot to take a picture of the side of the card showing how it stands up.  The nice part about it is that it is a slimline card and fits into a regular envelope.

I decided to add a few stems and flowers from the Greetery. I had such fun putting this card together.  We are under a heat advisory here.  It is way too hot to do much outside so it's a good time to catch up on some crafting!

Ladybug Card

Jennifer has been on vacation with her Dad and I wanted to have a card ready for her when she came home.  She loves ladybugs so I thought I would use SU's Hello Ladybug stamp set along with the matching punch.

I saw a video that - Brenda Quintana - made on her website and fell in love with it and knew that it was what I wanted to make for Jennifer.  I changed the colors and design up a bit using some scrap DSP I had on hand.

For inside my card, I used some more of the DSP and colored in another ladybug.  I thought it turned out so cute and she loved it!

Birthday Card

Here is another birthday card that I made for my daughter's boyfriend.  I looked through my birthday stash and came up with this card.

I decided to make this a 5"x7" card.  The base card was made with Gina K's Jelly Bean Green CS.  This was the first time I used her CS and I like the color as well as the thickness.  When you order one of her kits they include a few samples of her CS which is a nice way to see if you like them without purchasing them.  I found some scrap SU DSP that I thought matched for the first layer.  I cut out my next layer with a die from Stamp Market and used SU's One wild Ride stamp set for some decoration.  My sentiment was SU's Happiest of Birthdays stamp.  I decided to put a button tied with some twine on the layer as well.  When I showed my husband the card, he wanted to know why I put that on the card!  LOL!!

I used the same stamp set for my inside sentiment and some DSP scraps as well.  I liked how it tuned out even with the button!!  We have not gone out of the house in 2 days as the temps have been in the 90's and tomorrow is suppose to be higher!!  I see more crafting time in my future!

Pansy Birthday Card

Here is another birthday card that I made over the weekend!  This card was made with SU's stamp set Pansy Patch!  They must have been thinking of me when they produced this set!! LOL!!

This card came together pretty quick.  I used Garden Green for my base card and the DSP from the set for the layer on the card. separated with a band of Garden Green.  I also used the associated punch for the flower and leaves.  The punches for the greeting are from SU as well.

For the inside sentiment, I used the same stamp set.  I love everything about this set!  I have a few more cards I am working on for the next few weeks.  This is definitely a busy month.

Jennifer went to Lego Land over the weekend and had a wonderful time!  She sent me these pictures which I thought were so great!

These were just a few.  They had whole cities put together as well as rides and they are building a water park!  Great place!

Anniversary Teapot Card

I have been busy making cards for the next two months.  We have so many occasions coming up.  I made this adorable Teapot Card for my daughter's anniversary.  I love Heartfelt Creations Collections and their Teapot Collection is one of my favorites.  This card I made 5"x 7" and I covered the base card with some of their DSP.  I then used their Eyelet Frame Die to layer on top of it.

I die cut the teapot, cup, spoon and sugar bowl out and made some small flowers from their Cherry Blossom Collection and used small stamens for the centers.  For my sentiment, I used SU's So In Love stamp set.  It takes some time to make the flowers especially, but I always love the final results.  I hope everyone had a great holiday.  We are definitely feeling the summer heat but I still rather have that than the snow!!
