Tender Moments Card

Here is another card that I just finished to send to Jennifer this week!  We were over to see her yesterday and had a great time.  I always like to send her a card when I don't see her on the weekend.  I made this card from the Tender Moments Collection from Heartfelt Creations.  I purchased this collection as I have plans to use it to make an album of Jennifer's baby pictures, but the little creatures are so adorable I decided to use my favorite one on this card - the elephant!  My base card was made in their Deluxe White Flower Shaping paper layered with some DSP paper I had in my stash.  There are three dies cut out in white layered together.

I used their Decorative Frame dies for this card and for the sentiments I used SU's Harvest Hellos and Beautiful Day.  I also used some left over pansies I had in my stash and the leaves were made with Heartfelt Creation's Leafy Accents stamp and die.

Here is a picture of the inside sentiment.

Jennifer took these pretty pictures of a Monarch butterfly in her yard.  We used to have a lot of these but this is the first one I saw this year.

Jennifer and Jeannie went to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday to get a pumpkin for Halloween.  This first picture is Jennifer firing apples at an old truck.  She was pretty good at it.

Here is Jennifer in the corn field.

And the last picture is Jennifer with her Mom.  They had a great time!

It is suppose to warm up some this week which is fine with me.  We still have some plants to bring inside.  I'm sure the first frost will be here soon!

Christmas Glimmer Card

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I got to spend some time in my craft room and finally finished another Christmas card!  The weather here has been so nice it is hard to stay inside.  I used Heartfelt Creations Snowy Pines Collection again for this card along with some of their Decorative Royale Square & Circle Dies.  It is a 6"x 6" shutter fold card.  I really like this type of card.

I made this card which was in their gallery for inspiration.  After I stamped, colored and die cut the pine cone I used some 3D Lacquer on it with some crystal glitter.  I also added some large red stamens.

This is the inside of the card.  The DSP is from the collection as well along with the sentiments.

My daughter sent me this picture of Daisy waiting patiently for Jennifer to come home from school  Friday.

Caterpillar Card for Jennifer

Well, it has been a quiet few days - Jennifer started school 1/2 days on Wed.  Since she has been out of school due to Covid-19, every morning she would facetime me and we would discuss the upcoming days events and then before she goes to bed she would call again.  I definitely miss those morning calls!  But she was so happy to be back at school!  She doesn't have any kids near her to play with so it has been awhile since she saw her friends.  She started 2nd Grade believe it or not!  They have 2 in school classes and 1 remote learning class.  Once you sign up for a class it has to be for the whole year.  You cannot change.  There is no pre/after care either.  My daughter is suppose to go back to her work the beginning of the year, so she needed to sign her up for in school.  They do not make it easy today especially if you are a single parent.  I am hoping that the world is going to settle back down again.

I really didn't have any back to school stamps but I decided to send Jennifer this adorable caterpillar!  I think it is so cute.

It is from Inky Antics Honey Pop Collection.  They have a lot of other stamps for various occasions. I used my Spellbinders dies for my scalloped square and SU's Stitched Shapes Framelits dies for the sentiment.  I used some of my Peel Offs  star stripes as well.  I love how the POP works!

The caterpillar has an apple POP!  Isn't it cute!  I decided to put the apple on the envelope as well.

Someone else is missing Jennifer too!  As soon as Jennifer goes off to school, Daisy gets real quiet and waits for her to come home!  She has that look on her face - well, where is she and when is she coming home?

Hope everyone is enjoying this last weekend of the summer.

Snowy Pine Cabin Christmas Card

I'm back with another Christmas card using the Snowy Pine Collection from Heartfelt Creations.  This time I used the cabin and wreath stamp and dies.  It is the first time I used my Zig Markers.  I definitely need more practice, but I liked how it turned out.

I used their Rounded Window Frame die with their Luxe Gold CS.  Their dies are so wonderful and they cut right through this CS which is great.  The little hearts are from their Treasured Heart Box die.

I used their Dries White Glue for the snow and added some glitter.  I love the little birds in the wreath.

Here is the inside of the cards.  I used some of DSP from this collection and the sentiment is from SU's Season Like Christmas.

Joe and I ended up watching Daisy again this past week as they went to Niagara Falls for a few days and Rachel went with them.  They had a nice time.  They had to stay on the US side as Canada is not allowing anyone in.

Here is a picture of them when they first arrived.  The hotel was right by the falls.

Here is a picture of Jennifer and her lamb which went with her of course!

This picture is of her waiting to get on the - Maid of the Mist - boat tour.

Jennifer said she got pretty wet!

Here is a night shot of Jennifer and Rachel.  They loved looking at the falls all done in color!

Here is Mom and Jennifer the last night by the falls.  Joe and I have visited the falls twice.  Both times we were on the Canadian side. Well, school starts for Jennifer on Wed.  She is supposed to have 1/2 days for the first two weeks, so we will see what happens.  She is so excited to see her friends again.  She really hasn't played with any kids her own age since March when they shut everything down.  It is hard to believe that she will be starting 2nd grade.  These kids have been through a lot and I hope this year will be better for them.

Pine Cone Christmas Cards

It's hard to believe that a week has gone by since my last post!  It has been so hectic around here.  We watched Daisy for three days while Jennifer and Jeannie took a quick trip to Mystic Seaport.  They had a great time.  Jennifer loved it.  One of the highlights was visiting the Aquarium and seeing the Beluga whales! They have three of them.

While they were sightseeing, Daisy was enjoying being an only child.  Poppy and Nanny are definitely too old for a puppy!!  She liked to drag her bed out of the crate and find a place in the middle of the floor and fall asleep!

After they picked her up on Saturday, they headed home and stopped to see some balloons which landed close to their house.  Joe and I used to love to go and see the balloon races which of course were cancelled this year, but I guess some couldn't resist such a beautiful day for flying.

In between playing and walking Daisy, I tried to get some crafting done.  Since I am in a roll making Christmas cards, I made some more cards from the Heartfelt Creations Pine Cone Collection.  This is really a beautiful set.

These are 6" x 6" cards.  I used the medium and large pine cones and the cardinals which I have used before and the DSP from this collection.

I cut the cardinals in half like I did my previous card and used SU's Real Red and Olive Green for my inks.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend enjoying this great weather even though it is unbearably hot.  I think of winter snow coming, so I try not to complain so much!

Eclipse Card forJennifer

I used to make a lot of eclipse cards and decided to make another one to send to Jennifer.  I love everything about them.  Even though she has a new puppy she still loves cats.  I used SU's stamp set Pretty Kitty.  I have made a lot of cards with this set. It is so cute!  I made my base card 5"x7" in SU's Sweet Sugarplum with my layer in Very Vanilla.  I stamped and colored the cute kitty design and then used SU's Large Letter Framelits to cut out the word HUGS which I popped up with adhesive foam strips.  They do such a great job on these types of cards.

I couldn't find any stamp in my stash that had the right wording, and then I remembered that my daughter and her husband had found some stamp sets at a garage sale last year that had letters.  This set was labelled Alphadots made in 2004.  I used my stamp positioner, and I loved how it turned out.  I decided to use my small butterfly stamp from SU and some enamel dots to finish the front off.

For my inside sentiment, I used SU's Botanicals for You stamp set along with their Bordering Blooms.  I had an extra butterfly, so I decided to use that as well as some more enamel dots.  It made me feel good to use some stamp sets that I haven't used for awhile, as well as some supplies that I have had around for awhile.

Joe's Birthday Card

My husband's birthday card has a story of its own!  I had made the base card last week but couldn't decide what to put on the front if anything.  I used Heartfelt Creations Window Scene cards and dies to create his card.  For my sentiment, I used a $1 stamp from Michael's I had in my stash.

I love their dies.  They are so intricate and easy to use.  What to put on the top circle?  Along comes the hurricane, so I had to make a decision quickly as I was afraid we would lose power.  I decided to use the Sunflower stamp and die which I had not used before.  I quickly stamped and die cut it.  Usually I color the images before I cut them out but this time I didn't as I was in a rush.  I had just finished cutting them out when we lost power.  I thought I would wait awhile to color them as Rachel called that they were getting water in their basement.  Margaret and Dave were on vacation in North Caroline trying to get out of the way of the hurricane down there.  So Joe and her boyfriend got to the house and helped her bail water and figure out where the water was coming from.  It was dark before you knew it, so I ended up coloring the flowers by candle light!  Such fun!  They turned out much darker than I would have liked, but I had to finish them up as his birthday was the next day and I always have his card by his coffee cup in the AM.  It was midnight when I got to bed and then the electric came on!  At least I didn't have to worry about the food in the fridge.  I think we are going to look for a generator this week.

Here is the inside of the card.  It was the first time I made a circle card but I liked how it turned out.  They have a lot of different size base cards already to go which is really nice.  I hope everyone has recovered from this nasty hurricane.  Some areas of NJ are still without power!
