50th Birthday Card

Hope everyone is having a wonderful, relaxing Sunday!  Before attempting to do more yard work, I thought I would post the card I made for my daughter who is turning 50 this week!!  Does this mean I can't be 29 anymore??  My baby is going to be 50 years old - can it be!!  We love the same colors, so I made her card in Sweet Sugarplum CS.  I was so upset to hear that SU is retiring this color so I stocked up!

The stamp sets I used were Cool Treats, # of Years, Oh So Succulent and Perennial Birthday.  I used Whisper White for my layer and glimmer paper for my numbers.  I always die cute the numbers in card board as well and mount the glimmer paper on them so they are more sturdy.  I popped these up so they would stand out.  I even have the ribbon for this color as I love it so much!  Here is the inside that I stamped.

I have so many birthdays coming up the next few months.  I'm anxious to see SU's new stamp sets in their new catalog.  I loved all their old ones - especially Cool Treats!  Have a great week!

Rachel's Birthday Card

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  It was so great being outside in the sun!  My daughter and her fiancee came over and helped Joe take down the first of many trees destroyed by the storms.  I finally got back into the craft room yesterday and finished the birthday card I had started to make for Rachel.  It is hard to believe that she is turning 18!  I love SU's Party Panda stamp set ,so I decided to use it for her card.  I used SU's Powder Pink CS for the base and the DSP Painted with Love.  I think this DSP is so pretty.

I actually used my stamperatus for the first time in this card.  I placed both pandas and greeting on different plates.  The panda with the birthday hat didn't stamp completely, so I had to restamp it and it came out great.  I then stamp the two extra balloons separately and cut them out and adhered them to the card.  I used Powder Pink ink to color them in, as well as the party hat and sponged the Whisper White layer.  When I was unpacking my lost box, I found these cute stamps from Gelatins.  These were Off to School #'s which I stamped on the balloons.  I had purchased these years ago when I was making the girls cards to help with their math.  I'm going to have to find that project for Jennifer soon.

For the inside sentiment, I used Perennial  Birthday stamp set and stamped and cut out the other Panda in the set.

I really liked how this card turned out!  I hope Rachel does too!  On Saturday, Jennifer and her Mom came for the day and we had a great time outside riding her ATV.  She came in so proud to give me this cute pot of violets.

Every time she went around the yard, she would stop and pick some of my flowers and bring them in.  Spring is finally here - thank goodness!  Here are some of my hyacinths she picked.

Unfortunately, it is suppose to rain tomorrow, so I may get some more time crafting.  I started to make my daughters something for Mother's Day which I have to finish, as well as my daughter's birthday is coming soon.  Hope everyone has a great week!

Thinking Of You Card

Well,  I have no idea where the last week went.  Days are really moving fast around here - at least it is in the 70"s here the past few days, so I'm spending more time outside.  They said it is going to get colder starting tomorrow with rain, but anything is better than snow.  We have a lot of yard work to do after this rough winter.  I had started making these pansy cards awhile ago, and finally got back into the craft room to finish them.  I have had this stamp for awhile and never put any ink on it, so decided it was time.  As you know, I love pansies and decided to make some Thinking of You cards for my stash.  This stamp is by Debbie Mumm and produced by Inkadinkadoo.

I colored my images in and then used my Oval Spellbinders dies to cut them out.  I matched my CS up with my flower colors - Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry.

For the yellow pansies, I used Daffodil Delight.  I also used some enamels dots that I had in my stash.

I think I like the Rich Razzleberry ones the best, but I'm partial to those colors.  I backed them all in Old Olive.

My sentiment was from SU's Honeycomb Happiness.

I wanted to leave enough white space so I could write a message.  I haven't done much coloring lately but I liked how they turned out.  For me, every pansy is beautiful!!  Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend and enjoying some nice weather for a change.

Happy Easter Card

Here is one last Easter card that I sent out.  This is an old SU stamp set, but I always liked it.  I love the dancing rabbit among the eggs and flowers!  I used Thick Whisper White CS for my base.  I used Lemon Lime Twist for my layer, which I embossed with my Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  I then used my Spellbinders Oval Die and cut a hold in the center.  I backed it up with a sold piece of Lemon Lime Twist CS.

I stamped my image and then cut a smaller oval for my image.  I colored it in and popped it up in the center using dimensionals.

I used my two different size butterfly punches, making the larger one in Melon Mambo and gold, and the smaller one just in Melon Mambo.  I dressed them up with some rhinestones.

Then I used my favorite stamp again for the inside with some DSP to dress it up.  I love Easter and am sorry to see it go.  I love using all the different bunnies and flower stamps to make cards.  We had a fun weekend.  We had our Easter on Sat. which turned out great as the weather was nice and warm.  The kids had a great time with the Easter Egg Hunt and eating all the goodies.  We woke up this morning to 8 inches of snow!!!  Fortunately, with most Spring snows, it is melting fast but another storm is expected for this weekend.  It looks like winter doesn't want to lose its grip!  My Craft Show is this weekend, so I hope it won't be too bad.  Have a great week!
