Magical Day Birthay Card

I am definitely in love with this stamp set.  Jennifer is going to a birthday party this weekend and asked me to make a card for her to take.  Right away I thought of this stamp set.  I think they turned so cute.

The CS colors I used were Wisteria Wonder, Mint Macaron, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White and Blackberry Bliss for my ink.  I embossed my layer and used my Everyday Label Punch for my sentiment of my layer - 2 1/8 x 4 1/4.  I stamped and colored my cute little mermaids and then used the dies to cut them out.

I used my daubers to color my white satin ribbon Lemon Lime Twist and stamped some little bubbles on the layer - they look so cute!!  For the inside sentiment, I used the Perennial Birthday stamp set and stamped some cute little sea horses!

Since this card is not going through the mail, I stamped the little mermaid on the envelope with some more bubbles.  For some reason, my picture didn't turn out clear no matter how many times I took it.  LOL!!

I can see many more cards using this set in my future!  Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend,  It looks like we have rain coming in for our area - what else is new!!

Kids Coloring Cards

Wait until you see the cute project I have today.  My friend - Denise - brought this to my attention.  She originally saw it on Pinterest.  I thought it would be so cute for Jennifer and her friends.  I fell in love with the Magical Day stamp set and paper and thought this project was perfect. This card could be used for so many different occasions.  To color in the car on a long trip, on vacation, birthday wishes, to send to a little one who is sick, etc.  Here is a picture of two I had left.

Check out the video from - Tammy Beard.  I really loved how these turned out.  On this one I used some narrow washi tape.  I wouldn't use this size again as it was too thin.  I ended up having to glue it in place.

I also felt that tying it together with twine would not hold up well, especially with little fingers.  So I used some colored hair ties that I had on hand and they worked great.  On this one, I used some wider washi tape and it worked fine.

I also changed up the inside of my card.  I decided to fussy cut some of the mermaids and add them to the sentiment.

The other thing that I did was add some extra coloring sheets in back of the crayons.  Thanks Denise for stamping them for me.

What is nice is that you can always stamp some more pictures and replace them in the card.  Jennifer's came in handy when we were in Lancaster the other weekend.  Big day here tomorrow as Rachel is going to her boyfriend's prom.  Hopefully, the rain won't be too bad.  Have a great weekend!

Coaster Mini Album

Well, it looks like we had better enjoy the nice weather today as rain is coming in for Mother's Day weekend.  We are all gathering at my daughter's this year, so I guess we better plan on moving things inside.  I was looking around for something to make for my daughters and came across this cute -Coaster Mini Album made by Chic N Scratch.  She makes so many nice things.  They came together really quick.  I had the coasters, but heavy cardboard would work just as well.  These are the front covers.  I used my spellbinders dies and made a banner for the sentiment.  Again I was able to use up some scraps - I am definitely on a roll!

Here is a closer look at the covers.

Here is what the inside looks like when it is opened.

I decided to mark the year on the back cover as well.

I really liked how they turned out.  I used some dies to cut out the pictures and write in the date the picture was taken using my word window punch.  I didn't add a lot of embellishments to the inside as I wanted it to be able to close without using a belly band.

I was just going to put them in a nice bag when I came across this cute purse made with a 12 x 12 piece of DSP.  Check out her VIDEO - it is so easy to make.

I decided not to make the closure as my album was a bit too large.  So much for my measuring abilities!!  I just added some paper flowers that I had in my stash.  I really liked how they turned out.  I hope my daughters will too!

Well, I have to start cooking for the weekend.  Everyone in the Pansy Patch wishes all the Moms out there a wonderful "Happy Mother's Day".

Curtain Fold Mother's Day Card

I thought I had 2 more weeks until Mother's Day - I guess I was wrong!  We all went away this weekend to the Amish Country to celebrate my daughters 50th birthday, and we had a great time!  The kids had a ball in the pool!  We had great weather.  It was so nice to be outside without a coat!  When I was asked what I wanted to do for Mother's Day, I said Oh, we have time and everyone laughed!  After catching up with the laundry today, I decided I had better make some more cards.  I had seen this video on - Barbstamps.com - and decided to make some for Mother's Day.  I had made this type awhile ago, but I really liked how she made hers.  Here is my take on the card.

She used the upcoming Share What you Love Bundle, but I actually continued my hunt for scraps to use and succeeded in getting some the right size.  I used Old Olive for my base CS and found a perfect match for my ribbon.

That's what I love when you CASE something, you can make it your own with the stash you have on hand.  Instead of white, I used some of my small metallic foil doilies.  I didn't have the tri punch she used, so I substituted some little hearts that have been hanging around for awhile.  Here is the inside of my cards.

I used the Perennial Birthday stamp again for the sentiment.  These came together really quick which is what I needed.  I'm so use to making a portrait size card, I stamped the sentiment the wrong way.  I had cleaned and put everything away when I realized what I did, so everything was dragged out again to stamp it in landscape.  Here is another great card to make with scraps.  Well, I have to go out these in the mail.  Have a great week!

Mother's Day Card

Well, have you started making some cards for Mother's Day yet?  I saw this card at Debbie's Designs and thought I would try it.  I liked how she made the cone for the flowers.  I actually was able to use up some of my DSP scraps which is always a plus.  Of course I didn't have the stamps she used, so I just looked around my stash and substituted with what I had.

The measurements are:

Base card - 11 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2 ( I used Crumb Cake)
DSP - 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 and 3 x 3 (scraps)
Yellow CS - 4 1/4 x 1 1/2 (I used Daffodil Delight)
Whisper White - 4 x 3/4
Old Olive - 2 1/4 x 1/2

For my inks I used Crushed Curry, Tempting Turquoise, and Daffodil Delight.  My stamp/dies were Oh So Succulent, Perennial Birthday and Blooming Love.  I was surprised how quick it came together.  She had a great tip on her video about marking your scoreboard on the 6" mark to make it easier to score your 3 x 3 piece to make the cone.  I had some extra flowers, so I used them on the inside.

I really liked how it turned out.  Each one will be different depending on the colors and stamps/dies you use.  Give it a try!
