Valentine's Day Purses

I woke up this morning happy to see the temps still in the 40's!!  It has been such a wonderful warm weekend.  We are suppose to get some more snow tonight into tomorrow but with the temps the next 2 weeks in the 40's I'm hoping to see most of the snow melt!! We had a quiet Valentine's Day as half the family is still sick with colds.  I saw this cute craft project over at Brenda Quintana's blog and decided to make some for all the girls!

I promised myself I wasn't going to buy any more DSP, but I fell in love with SU's new Made With Love DSP and their heart doilies.  The little gift bag in the foreground is for Juan.

For the flap, I used Real Red and Pretty and Pink  CS from SU.  The doilies come in both white and red colors.  I actually used up some old ribbon I had on hand for the handle

On the back side of the circle, I used SU's Heart to Heart Stamp set and their Sealed With Love die set for my glitter heart.

This what the inside looks like where it holds 2 Lindor Truffles.  I used some velcro dots for the closure.  I think these would be so cute to make for a Mother's Day tea as well.

Thank for stopping by,

Nancy

Sympathy Cards

I hope everyone is doing well.  We are in the midst of very cold weather along with some snow and the forecast is calling for a major snowstorm this weekend! UGH! Our plow is definitely getting a workout this year.  A friend of mine is downsizing her craft supplies and asked me if I was interested in some Stampin Up sets.  Of course the answer was yes!!  One of the stamp sets was Lasting Lily with dies and some sympathy sentiments.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and adjusted it to what I had on hand.  I never have any on hand when I need them, so I decided to make more than one.

Using the same idea, I made each card using different DSP and matching it up with coordinating ink.  I used my ML#2 from Gina K for my format.

I decided to alternate the main sentiments on the front of the cards.  Most of my inks are from Stampin Up but recently I purchased a few colors from Gina K.  She advertises that they have a smoothing agent and look different when dried.  She definitely is right!  What a difference between the two especially with these types of stamps and blending.

I decided to use the extra piece of DSP to decorate the inside.  Never let a scrap go to waste!!

It's basketball time again.  Jennifer is number 18.

Finally got the ice removed just in time for more snow!
