Happy Birthday Eclipse Card

Today I have another birthday card I made.  I am in love with eclipse cards and saw this on Pinterest and decided to try it.  It is a larger size card than I usually make, but I wanted more room for my letters.  My base card I used Thick Whisper White CS cut at 9" x 6 1/4" and scored at 4 1/2".  I won't tell you how long it took me to figure this size out but I made it!!  Years ago I had purchase this DSP with pansies all over it, and I still have some sheets left so I decided to use it for this card.

I used my Large Letters dies from SU to cut out the word Happy and also some thick cardboard to mount them on so they would stand out more.  I used the foam adhesive strips to mount them on the CS.  I love these, they do such a great job!  I then cut some strips of my pansy DSP and mounted then on strips of Daffodil Delight CS leaving a 1/8" border.  My Birthday sentiment was from the # of Years Stamp set by SU.  I actually had some yellow enamel dots that adhered on the front as well.  It's amazing how sometimes things can actually come together.

My inside was done in Daffodil Delight CS using the Better Together stamp set by SU for the sentiment.  I fussy cut one of the pansies and added it to my inside to dress it up a bit.  Today my daughter and her finance are picking up their RV that they just purchased, so everyone is all excited.  Everyone has lots of ideas where they want to go, so this should be interesting!  Hope everyone has a great week!

Christmas in July

Well, I can't believe it but I created a Christmas Card - no two - today!!  This is a major accomplishment for me.  I rarely make Christmas cards, and if I do it is usually last minute for family and close friends!  I really don't know why, but I'm not usually into Christmas cards.  I make a lot of gifts for the Wellness Center, Jennifer and her friends but not cards.  I saw this card on Pinterest and I really liked it.  I said to myself - self, I think you have that stamp set and I did. Then I looked at the date and it was July 25th,  so it is definitely Christmas in July!!

I used Black CS for my base and Real Red CS for my first layer.  My second layer is Merry Music Specialty DP.  I stamped my trees from SU's Season Like Xmas stamp set using Old Olive for my first tree stamp, Pear Pizazz my second stamp and Real Red for the third stamp.

I made a banner for my sentiment from the Snow Place stamp set from SU which I popped up with dimensionals.  Then I attached a Mini Jingle Bell to each ribbon before I adhered them to the card.

For my inside sentiment. I used the Season Like Xmas stamp set and added a few little stars from the same set.  So I now have "2" Christmas cards in my stash!  YaY!!  We have had so much rain this week that even Hershey Park has been underwater and closed!  I hate to see how tall the grass will be when Joe gets to mow!  Hope you enjoyed this cute Christmas card.  It came together pretty quick!

Feathered Friends Thank You Card

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!  With all the rain we have had this weekend, I got to spend some time in my craft room.  I decided to use SU's stamp set Feathered Friends and make some Thank You cards with it.  I used Smokey Slate CS for my base card and embossed it.  My first layer was done in Blackberry Bliss and I stamped on Whisper White,

I used my markers to color them in.  I made these Thank You cards, but you could use these for any occasion.  I didn't have any matching ribbon, so I colored some white satin ribbon with my ink and dauber and it matched the CS perfectly.  I love this technique!

I left the inside blank so I can write a personal note.  It did take some time to color, but I really like how they turned out.  You could make these in so many different colors.

I'm working on another birthday card that I'll post in a few days.  Have a great week!

Pretty Kitty Thinking of Your Card

I was looking through my stash and decided that I needed some "Thinking of You" cards.  I saw this cute take of the Pretty Kitty SU stamp set and decided to make it.  This is such a cute set!  I decided to use one of my favorite colors - Sweet Sugarplum for my base CS.  My layer was done in Whisper White.  I used my Stitched Framelits for my circles and my Spellbinders die for the Scalloped circles.

I used dimensionals to pop up my circles so that they would stand out a bit.  I actually found some ribbon in my stash that matched the Sweet Sugarplum CS pretty good along with some colored rhinestones.

I think they turned out so cute with all the different kitties!  I used the Count My Blessing Stamp set from SU for my inside sentiment along with some scraps of DSP.

Hard to believe that the weekend is here already.  We finally got some tomatoes and peppers from the garden.  The deer have been helping themselves to all Joe's hard work!  Have a great weekend and see you back here next week!

One Wild Ride Birthday Card

Well, I'm still making birthday cards to have in my stash.  Today's card is made with SU's One Wild Ride.  I couldn't believe how quick this card came together.  For my base card, I used Basic Black CS and for my first layer More Mustard.  My second layer was made with some DSP in my stash that I cut vertically so the first layer could show through.

I used my stitched circle die to cut Whisper White which I stamped the motorcycle on.  I offset it and trimmed it down.  I ended up fussy cutting the other sentiments for the front of the card and then popped them up with some dimensionals.  For some one that doesn't like to fussy cut I have been doing it a lot lately!!

I used the sentiment in this stamp set for the inside and adhered some extra DSP paper on the bottom of the card.  Well, I have quite a few birthday cards in my stash now, but one can never have enough I have found.  It is almost 100 degrees here today!!  Needless to say, we are not going far!!  Have a good week!.

Perennial Birthday Card

I have used the sentiments in this stamp set a lot lately, but I realized that I never used the stamps!  I am working on making birthday cards, so I decided to get some ink on the stamps.  I was really happy how these cards turned out.

I saw this card on Pinterest.  What I like about it is that you can make this card in so many different colors.  I used Melon Mambo CS for my base, Powder ink for my first layer and Whisper White for my next layer.

I colored my flowers in with Melon Mambo, Powder Pink and Pear Pizzazz with my Aqua pen.  Then I layered my sentiment with the same colors.

I decorated my inside with another cute flower and used my favorite sentiment again in this stamp set.  I am definitely going to make some more in different color combinations.  Hope everyone is having a good week!

Butterfly Basics Birthday Card

I have been working on some birthday cards and I knew when I saw this card on Pinterest that I wanted to make it for my daughter's birthday which is coming up.  What I didn't realize is all the fussy cutting I would have to do!! LOL!  I used Whisper White for my base card and on the left side I stamped the diagonal background image in basic black.  On the left side I stamped the honeycomb background image in Pool Party.

For my layer, I used Shimmery White CS and sponged it with Pool Party and adhered it to the base card with some dimensionals.  I stamped the honeycomb image again in Pool Party on Whisper White and then stamped the butterfly image in Melon Mambo over the top and then again on its own.  I then cut them out with the dies.  The fern image was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist on Shimmery White CS and I cut it out - that was fun!!  I then stamped the floral image in Basic Black on Shimmery White CS and used my aqua painter to color it with Lemon Lime Twist and Melon Mambo and then fussy cut that out as well.  Then I just adhered my images down with some dimensionals adding some gold thread behind them.  I placed my butterflies on the page making sure I left room for the sentiment, which I stamped in Basic Black as well on Shimmery White CS, cut it out and adhered it with tiny dimensionals.  I actually had some matching Melon Mambo sequins which I scattered around.

For my inside sentiment, I used SU's Whimsical Words and stamped some tiny butterflies with Melon Mambo.  Yes, it was a lot of cutting, but I was really pleased how it turned out.  The fern was the worst but the rest wasn't too bad!  Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy 4th of July!!!

We hope everyone is enjoying this week of celebration.  It has been so hot here in the North East, but we are still planning on celebrating today with family but mostly inside.  I came across a post I had made many years ago.  A 4th of July card that I was really proud of and thought I would post it again for those of you who may have not seen it!  It definitely tested me, but I was so happy with the results.

I always make these 4th of July goodies as well.  The people in the Wellness Center always look out for them.

Have a wonderful, joyful day with your family and friends!
