Botanical Blooms Birthday Card

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.  Everyone is trying to get back to normal after a long weekend off.  I realized that I have a lot of birthdays coming up and my stash was getting empty.  I saw a few cute cards on Pinterest that I decided to make.  This first one was using one of my favorite Su stamp sets - Botanical Blooms.  I love this set!

Recipe:

Stamps - Botanical Gardens, Perfect Pairing
Ink - Watermelon Wonder, Old Olive
Paper - Watermelon Wonder, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Accessories - Botanical Garden Framelits, Punches, Basket Weave Embossing Folder
Embellishments - Ribbon, Wink of Stella - clear

I think this card would look so neat using any other color as well.  What I did was stamp first on my layer and then run it through the embossing folder.  It gave such a great affect.  I didn't have any Watermelon Wonder ribbon so I colored my white ribbon with the ink.

For one of my cards, I stamped my birthday greeting inside.  I left the other blank as I think you could use it for other occasions with the "thinking of you" on the front.

I used the Wink of Stella on the flower petals and I really liked how they turned out.  Hope you enjoy this card as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by,
Nancy, Rachel & Sarah

  1. The contrast of red and green is wonderful! I love those bold flowers and the texture given by the embossing folder. Super pretty!

  2. Beautiful cards, and such a lovely idea to color the ribbon to match it perfectly. I really like how the wink of stella pens give an extra sparkle to the petals. You did a fabulous job.
