The other day I spent some time crafting with some friends. Our friend from Florida - Hi Martha!! - is up visiting her family. We met over at Denise's house, as she has all the SU goodies to play with! Here is one of the cards we made.
Recipe:
Stamps - Wetlands - SU
Ink - Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry - SU
Paper - Crumb Cake, Soft Sky, Whisper White - SU
Accessories - Early Espresso Embossing Powder, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Oval Punch - SU
The card is an A2 size card - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" in Crumb Cake. The Soft Sky layer is 5 1/4" x 4" and the Whisper White layer starts out at 5 1/4" x 4". Punch out a circle on a piece of scrap paper and use this circle as your template - don't throw the punched circle away. On your Whisper White layer where you want the sun to appear, tape the template down or hold it and start sponging with the colors of your choosing. We used Daffodil Delight and then sponged part of the sun with Crushed Curry. Using the punched out circle piece, temporary place it over the sun as a mask. Place masking tape or a large post-it to form a line between the sky and sand. Working with your blue inks, sponge the top section until you are happy with the look. Use your light colors first and then your darker tones. Turn the masking tape around so you can then sponge the sand with the brown tones. When you are happy with the color, remove the masking paper and stamp your image. Then tear the paper on the top and bottom and sponge the edges with the appropriate colors. Adhere this layer to the Sky Blue layer and add your sentiment using dimensionals. I think what's nice about this card is that you can use any colors and any stamp sets you have. I really liked how it turned out.
Well, Labor Day is upon us - the official end of summer. We hope that you and your family will have a fun packed weekend creating lots of memories!
Thanks for stopping bye,
Nancy, Rachel & Sarah
