Skeleton Halloween Card

I hope everyone had a great Halloween!  It was such a beautiful day here - 80 degrees - we sat outside giving away the candy. Our little Great Grandson Juan gave everyone a laugh driving from door to door in his card treat and treating!

Here is the card I made for him for Halloween!

I used the Halloween Words stencil again along with the Glitter Glaze and the die cut Happy Halloween  Banner with the Mini Skeleton from Scrapbook. I mounted the skeleton on a wobble so it would wiggle around!

For my inside sentiment, I used  my old stamp from Michael's with some extra dies I had.  We had such a great time.

Ink Blending Halloween Cards

We have been enjoying our beautiful weather so much that I forgot to post some more Halloween cards. I really liked doing the last cards I posted and decided to do some ink blending instead of using colored CS.  I think it gave the cards a whole different look!  I used Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight inks.  I love these little guys!!

I used the Scattered Bat stencil again, but this time I used black ink and when dried I covered over the bats in Glitter Glaze.  I love how sparkly it turned out!

I used Gina K's Detail White embossing powder again for the sentiment over her Pigment White ink.  I like how clear the embossing turns out using the pigment ink!

My inside sentiment is the same as I had some bats left over.  Is it me or does anyone else have trouble using SU's punches.  They are so hard to use.  I always have Joe do it now!  LOL!!

Ghost Card

Well, I'm back to making some Halloween cards.  I have a weakness for buying Halloween goodies and couldn't resist when I saw this cute little ghost from the Pretty Pink Posh release called - Halloween Corners.  There are so many cute Halloween stamps and dies this year!

I used Pumpkin Pie CS from SU for my base card.  For my layer I used SU's Highland Heather CS and did some blending with the darker color Gorgeous Grape.   Then I used Ranger's Distress Black Opaque Texture Paste on the Bat die from the release.

I love how this  little ghost turned out holding his cute pumpkin.  There is a little die for his face which makes it easy and I backed it with a black circle.  For my sentiments, I stamped them in White Pigment ink and used white embossing powder and then a die to cut them out which makes it easy!

My inside sentiment is also from the release set and the bats are from a SU punch.  I liked how these cards turned out.  Juan went on his Pumpkin Patch field trip with his Nursey School and had a great time.  He didn't want a big pumpkin but a "Baby One"!

On the other hand, Jennifer went for a big one!!

They met at the mall and of course he wanted to go for a ride on his favorite car!  They had lots of fun which is all that matter!

Bat Halloween Card

Well, October is now here and I'm trying to get a jump on Halloween.  I'm not as fast as I used to be, so I had  some of my helpers bring down my decorations from the attic over the weekend so I could get started.  We have always loved Halloween and since Jennifer's was born on Halloween, it is always so  much fun.  I also started making some cards.  I saw this design on Pinterest and thought is would be cute and easy to make since I knew I had the SU DSP.  Well, after checking my stash I must have used the star paper up.  Fortunately, after telling my crafty friend Denise she found she has the paper and cut it up for me and sent it in the mail!  Thank You Denise!!

I used Basic Black for my base card and More than Mustard for my first layer.  I then used SU's DSP for  my second layer.

For my circle, I used SU's Stitched Shapes Framelit die along with the coordinating bat punch.  I then added some of the star gems to the circle.

For my inside sentiment, I used my trusty old stamp from Michael's.  Denise even sent along the extra DSP scraps, so I used them to add some more decoration to the inside if the card. I purchased some new stencils for Halloween, so that will be the next cards - hopefully!

Mouse card for Jennifer

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.  We are enjoying some beautiful weather before the rain comes in this week.  Jennifer is doing great in school so far getting 100% on her first spelling test, so I decided to make this adorable little mouse to tell her how proud we are of her progress so far.

There's nothing more cute than an adorable little mouse enjoying her ice cream cone!  This stamp set/dies I purchased from Gina K.  It's called Ice Cream Social.  She has a new designer who is creating such adorable new stamps sets.  I used SU's Polish Pink CS for my base card and her Master Layout Set #2 for the layer.  I popped everything else up and used my Pink Jelly roll to color in the ice cream.

For my inside sentiment, I used Colorado Craft Co.'s stamp set - Proud of You stamp.  I am trying to use up some my stash and found this cute washi tape to decorate the inside.

Birthday Card for Juan

We celebrated our Great Grandson's birthday over Labor Day.  He turned 3 years old which is so hard to believe.  It seems like yesterday he was born!  I was thinking about what kind of card to make for him and found this cute card over at Pinterest.

I added some layers to the number 3 and the balloons to make them stand out! This was a larger card - 5 1/2" x 7 1/4" - so I made an envelope with my  envelope maker.

For my inside sentiment, I used SU's Happiest of Birthdays stamp set.  I love this set and have used it so many times!  I used my SU balloon punch to decorate the inside!

They celebrated his birthday by going to the Crayola Co. Here is a picture of Jennifer and Juan painting.  He loves to paint!

Of course, he loves Spiderman!  He loved his cake and the night light he now has in his room!

He loves blowing out candles and singing Happy Birthday!!  So cute!  We had a great time!

Beehive Box

Today's post is a little beehive box that I made to go with the Fluffiest Friends card that I made for Jennifer on my last post.  I saw this over at Brenda Quintana's blog - Beehive Box.  I knew Jennifer would like it - which she did!

I used the same stamp set and dies from SU's Fluffiest Friends and some yellow CS I had on hand.  I am trying to use up old CS that has been collecting in my drawer.

I used an embossing folder for the texture and some jute trim for the bow.  I filled it with some honey drops which she likes.  Brenda filled hers with some honey tea which I thought was a great idea as well.  She always makes such adorable projects! Such a cute idea!

Fluffiest Friends Card

I wanted to make a card for Jennifer and I remembered I had purchased this cute stamp and die from SU.  I have been trying to keep my purchases down lately and use what I have in my stash but this stamp set caught my eye.  I think it is so cute with all the little animals - Fluffiest Friends.

I used craft CS for my base card and added some DSP paper on the bottom.  I don't do this design that often but I like how it turned out!  I used the little bubble bee stamp in the set to decorate my paper.  My circle is cut out with my spellbinders circle dies and the sentiment is also from this stamp set.  Love it!!  Isn't the bear so cute with his honey jar? I even found some little heart gems in my stash to add to the front.

For my inside sentiment, I used Gina K's stamp set Ridiculously Awesome.  I love this DSP so much I used some of the scraps to decorate the panel.

I have been doing some cross stitching lately.  I can't overdue thanks to my hands, but I saw these adorable bags at FQS (Fat Quarter Shop) and got each of the girls one.  I then decided to cross stitch their initials on them.

I really liked how they turned out.  I found the letters on FQS as a free download.

I stuffed these cute tic tacs in the bags and hung little heart charms from my SU Trinket stash on the zipper pull  School is ready to start here in PA pretty soon, so Jeannie, Margaret and Jennifer went down to Cape May, NJ. for the weekend.

So guess who came for a visit?  Joey!! He is 15 years old!!  I can't believe it!  He kept us busy this weekend!  He helped Joe pick tomatoes.  I guess I will be making tomato sauce this week.

Poppy's Birthday Card

As we move into August, we had another birthday to celebrate!  It was Joe's turn and in true fashion we all got together to celebrate his 86th birthday over the weekend!

I decided to make him a gate fold card.  I used SU's Island Indigo CS for my base card and some DSP for the fold layers on gold CS.  I used SU's Birthday Die to cut in gold CS and layered that on the Island Indigo and gold CS as well.

For my inside panel, I decorated it using some gold toned washi tape. I love making these gate fold cards, as they come together so quickly.

Here is Jennifer with the birthday boy!

Here is a picture of the whole crew!  Even Daisy and Joey got into the action!  It was another hot day but later in the evening Jennifer and Juan were able to go outside and ride their cars!  So much fun!

Margaret's Birthday Card

Well, July's birthdays are over!  We celebrated Margaret's birthday last weekend.  I made a mini slimline card for her using Master Layouts #7 by Gina K.

I used some left over pink CS I had on hand for my base card.  My layers where Basic White and black for my panel.  I used Gina K's Bodacious Bloom stencils and her So Many Sentiments for the greeting.  This was the first time I had used these stencils and I think they turned out great.  I used her Carnation Ink - L, M, D and Spruce - L, M. D.

For my inside sentiment, I used SU's Perennial Birthday  and decided to stencil another flower bloom on the corner.  I forget to take pictures before I wrote on it.  I had ordered her present and of course it didn't arrive until the next day!

Daisy loves to run and catch.  Here is a picture with her new toy!

She always brings it back but doesn't want to give it up, but she is getting better.  In this hot weather, after a few runs she is ready to go inside to the air-conditioning!

Congratulations Card for Jennifer

Straightening up my craft room I realized that I had not posted the card I made for Jennifer for getting on the High Honor Roll.  I decided to make a slimline card to use SU's stamp and die set Playing in the Rain.  This is such an adorable set which I have used before.

I used SU's basic white CS for my base layer and some DSP for the second layer.  I think three rabbits are so darn cute, and I used some small wobbles on them so they would wiggle around!  The sentiment is from Gina K's stamp set So Many Sentiments.

For the inside sentiment, I used an old SU stamp set Amazing Congratulations.  This set has 3 stamps that you use with different colors that fit into the outline stamp.  I have used these stamps before with no problem but this time two stamps for the inside would not stamp.  It was obvious that the stamps had deteriorated.  Unfortunately, I am finding that some of my older SU stamps are not surviving very well.  So I ended stamping the outline and then with different colors filling in the inside.  I think it turned out OK.

Everyone was here over the 4th of July to help celebrate my birthday.  Even though it was unbearably hot it was fun.  I had a DQ cake with peanut butter filling - my favorite!!

The kids had fun outside in the evening to set off some fireworks that Aunt Rachel supplied.  Here is Jennifer and Juan investigating.  They enjoy each other so much.  It is hard to believe he will be three years old in Sept.

I hope everyone is keeping cool during this warm spell.  Joe is excited that he is seeing tomatoes in the garden.

Patriotic Cards & Jennifer at Disney

I have made several Patriotic cards in the past for the 4th and ended making some more this year.  It was way too hot to go outside.  The temperatures have been out of control lately.  PA has broken 10 heat records already this month.

I used my SU star embossing folder and layered it up on SU's Brilliant Blue CS.  I used SU's Sunshine Sayings & Wishes die set.

I have so many sets of letters left over from the girls when were in school, so I used some for the USA on the cards.

For the inside sentiment, I used an old SU stamp from 2001 called God Bless America Special Edition that I found while I was cleaning out my stamps.  I knew I had it and couldn't find it so that started the clean out process in my craft room!!

Jeannie and Jennifer are down at Disney this hot week.  It was Jennifer's surprise for getting on the High Honor Role and Perfect Attendance this year in 5th Grade.  Rachel was suppose  to go with them, but unfortunately she came down with Covid the day before they were leaving!  They are keeping us posted with lots of pictures.  Here are a few:

This was watching the fireworks from a boat over at Epcot.

These were all taken at breakfast.  I love her smile! They are having such a great time!

When she was at the dinosaur exhibit, she was chosen out of the kids to name a new baby dinosaur - Yellow!

Unfortunately, she can't go in the water, as a few weeks ago she broke the knuckle on her right pinky playing basketball and has a brace on it.  It's hard to see in the pictures as she is hiding it!!

It's  been on for 6 weeks, so hopefully when she go back to see the doctor next week it will come off before she goes to camp!

I entered this card over at - Double D Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and stay cool!!
