Thinking of You Card

I wanted to make a card for a friend of ours who is going through some rough treatment.  I saw this card on Pinterest and thought it would be perfect for him.  Mary Brown made this card and used the stamp set Gift Of Kindness.  Of course, I didn't have this set, so I pulled out my flower sets and came up with this.

Recipe:

Stamps - Fabulous Florets, Petite Petals - SU, Thinking of You stamp - Justrite
Ink - Stazon
Paper - Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Yellow Daffodil - SU
Accessories - Corner Rounder, Petite Petals Punches - SU, Rhinestones

My base card was an A2 size with my first layer 5 1/4" x 4".  My Whisper White layer measured 3" x 4 1/2".  I stamped my leaf first and then cut it in half and then cut each half in different sizes.  I stamped my flowers out and then cut them out my hand.  Then I punched out some with my Petal punch.  I stamped my sentiment on the side and rounded all the corners of the CS on the lower right end.  I glued my Whisper White pieces on and then placed my flowers on popping them up with dimensionals.  This is such a versatile card.  You could use it for many occasions and with many color combinations.

My daughter and Rachel went to a farm yesterday with Jennifer and her Mom.  Jennifer loves seeing all the animals.  While they were there they got these cute little lip balms.

If course, my is the pansy and Rachel got the lady bug which also acts as a key chain!  So cute!!  A summer thunderstorm just went through and gave us a lot of rain which we certainly can use.  Seven days left of school and summer begins!!

Kisses Jar from Jennifer

I had this idea in my head for awhile after seeing a bunch of mason jars decorated for different holidays.  With so much going on, I didn't know if I would get it done in time for Jennifer to give her Mama on Mother's Day but I just finished it.

I took a small mason jar and covered the lid with DSP and glued it to the rim so it would stay together when it was opened.  Then I adhered a piece of the same DSP around the middle of the jar.  For the front I glued on some gold letters spelling out "Mama" and popped up some flowers I had for decoration,

For the back I glued on more gold letters spelling out "Love".  I then filled up the jar with some chocolate kisses.

To finish it off, I tied a ribbon around the neck of the jar and used my Chalk Talk die cut for the tag.  I used my computer to type out:

Here's lots of Kisses from
Me when you need one.
Happy Mother's Day
I Love You!
Jennifer 2015

I inked around the tag and tied it on the bow with some twine.  I just love how it turned out.  It has been a rough week around here with Jennifer going to Day Care.  Lots of tears, so I thought my daughter would like to put this on her desk at work.  The only other thing I wanted to do with it was have Jennifer's hand print on another tag as well, but with her in Day Care I didn't have an opportunity to get it done.  We are all going to her house for Mother's Day, so I think I will take my paint along with me and try and get it done to add on later.  Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Mother's Day Card

Well, the calendar says Mother's Day is this Sunday - boy did that sneak up on me!!  So I set out to make a few simple cards - quickly, so I could get them in the mail in time!!  I decided to use the Butterfly Thinlet stamp set again but used the smaller butterfly this time.

I had a different design in mind when I set out, but this is what I ended up with.  I was going to do some embossing and put the butterflies on one side, but I wanted my greeting on the front.  So, I decided to put some ribbon down one side and scatter my butterflies like they were flying around the greeting.

I was happy how they turned out.  I used Very Vanilla for my base card as well as for my layer.  The butterflies are stamped in Old Olive, Pretty and Pink and Wisteria Wonder and then die cut.  I used a Mother's Day greeting on the inside that I found years ago in the $ bin at Michael's.  The ribbon is half white and pink satin and I placed a few rhinestones on the butterflies to dress them up for the occasion!

It looks like we're going to have a beautiful weekend!  Everyone in the Pansy Patch would like to wish all the Mom's out there a very Happy Mother's Day!!

Birthday Card

I had another birthday card to make and decided to use the new butterfly thinlet set.  My youngest daughter's birthday was Monday and both she and Jennifer love butterflies.  I had seen this card on Pinterest knew they would like it.

Recipe:

Paper - Whisper White, Rich  Razzleberry
Stamps - Butterfly Thinlet Set, Outlined Occasions
Accessories - Embossing Folder
Embellishments - Rhinestones, ribbon

I started with an A2 sized card.  My layer of Whisper White was 4"x 5 1/4" which I embossed.  I love this embossing folder.  I have had it a long time and am not sure of its name.  It has cute little birds on it.  I then taped a piece of ribbon in the middle and adhered it to the base card,  My panel layers were 3" x 3 3/4" of Rich Razzleberry and 3 1/2" x 2 3/4" of Whisper White.  I stamped my greeting on the upper right corner and used dimensionals to adhere it to the base card.  I then die cut my butterfly using my drier sheet which made it pop right out.  I adhered it on the panel with some glue dots and applied some rhinestones.

For the inside I stamped my sentiment and used the small butterfly stamp in the set.  I also stamped my envelope with it as well.  I really liked how it turned out and she loved it!

We have some beautiful weather here this week.  A little warm but better than snow!!  Have a great week!
