Well, we are in the midst of school shopping - one week left. It is mad chaos around here. Joe and I have been babysitting Jennifer for the past two weeks as my daughter went back to work. Best laid plans - the daycare center at her work didn't work out. She was only there 3 days in 2 weeks and had a toy dropped on her head by another child, and caught a terrible cold from the other kids. She has been so sick. Back to the Dr.'s 2 times. My daughter is now interviewing people to watch her at home, so guess who is watching her until that happens! She has contaminated us all - everyone has a sore throat so lots of germs floating around here. But I managed to go to a crafting day at my Stampin Up Demonstrator on Friday and made some cute cards that I thought I would share with you.
Unfortunately, I am always in the need of sympathy cards which I never have. I have been looking at this stamp set and really liked how it turned out.
We used the new in-color Blackberry Bliss for a layer on whisper white. We stamped the Everything Eleanor stamp in crumb cake and then the Love & Sympathy stamp in Blackberry Bliss over it. I really like the richness in this color.
I like the sentiment that comes with the stamp set as well. Another card I decided to make was what I call a happy card! The stamp set was Work of Art which is another set I'm thinking of buying. We used Melon Mambo for the base card with a layer of black and stamped on whisper white. The little hearts stamped in black look like seeds in a watermelon - so cute!
These cards are so simple and easy to make and love how they turned out. Joe is down at the garden trying to find some tomatoes for dinner. This year's crop wasn't too good this year. Not enough to do any canning either. Hope you are enjoying your weekend and have a great week!

Stamping Fun
The calendar says August 1st - can you believe it! I can't - where did the summer go? Hard to believe that the girls will be going back to school in 3 weeks - but we won't mention that to them! I had such a nice morning today stamping with friends. We got together at my friend Denise's. Here are two of the cards we made.
This one was done with stamp sets from Wetlands, Gorgeous Grunge and Work of Art. I always can use "thinking of you" cards and love how this turned out. Our friend from Florida gave us some great shells to use for decorating the cards which we used with some Baker's Twine. We also stamped on the inside of the card which I like to do.
This card we made with the Tide Stamp Set.
We embossed the lobster which really made it stand out. A simple card, but one that I can use for a lot of occasions. Hope you are all enjoying your summer!
